Since updating to the latest version of Enfold, my OptimizePress LiveEditor functionality is no longer working. More specifically, the editor just doesn’t load when choosing to edit an element. I’ve tested this by using another theme and it works fine. Plus, it was working fine before, so basically something you added or edited in an update has broken this.

Could you look into this please? As right now I’m not able to edit any of the main pages on my website, when there are some obvious errors which need correcting.

    Thanks,
    – James.

    Hey jamesf1989,

Could you specify the pages that we could test and the sequence of steps to reproduce the error?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hey Victoria,

    Sure!

    1) Log in as an admin using the private details in my previous post.
    2) Edit the page at https://www.digitalprosperity.com/the-prosperity-formula/ using the admin toolbar at the top.
    3) Click “Launch Now” under the “Live Editor” column, in the OptimizePress tab.
    4) Hover over the top line of text “Online marketing expert…” and click the pencil icon on the right.

You can see the editing box doesn’t load.

Then if you close the editing window, none of the buttons work, and the only way of fixing it is to reload the page again.

Let me know if you need any more clarification :-)

    Thanks!
    – James.

    Hi James,

    Great explanation! Thanks :)
From the error it looks like you need to flush the cache. Are you using minfication? If yes, you might want to disable that and enable later. Also looks like the Layer Slider editor gets called. Are you using Layer Slider here?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hey Victoria,

I fixed the issue by disabling the Enfold theme from using on pages created with OptimizePress. So that’s a workaround for now.

I disabled the minification plugins when identifying the error, so it isn’t that. I literally used a different theme and it started working, so it’s definitely something in Enfold.

I’m not using LayerSlider on the page, so not sure why it’s getting called. Maybe that’s what’s causing the JS conflict?

    Thanks,
    – James.

    Hi James,

Yep, could be that somehow Layer Slider JavaScript gets called and causes issues.

Glad you got it working for you! :)

If you need further assistance please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

I didn’t really get it working, as disabling the theme from loading altogether isn’t really a long-term fix… So any idea how to get this fixed properly?

Also, I cleared my cache and that didn’t fix it :-(

    Thanks,
    – James.

    Hi James,

I checked your site and I can see that both Enfold theme and Optimizepress is activated with no issues when I tried to follow your instructions above. Can you tell us more how you disabled the theme from loading? as you have mentioned and also tell us how we can see the error back?

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    #801315

    Hey Nikko,

I disabled the Enfold theme from loading on the front-end and back-end by hovering over OptmizePress in the left menu within the wp-admin area, then “Support”. Then go to “Disable Scripts and Styles”, then click “Theme Styles and Scripts” at the bottom. Finally, you can check or uncheck the options there. That should get the error happening again. But please put it back to how it was after you’ve finished troubleshooting.

    Thanks!
    – James.

    Hi James,

I have tried what you mentioned, and noticed that it was css that was checked (disabled), I tried to uncheck it and do your instructions here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/new-update-stops-optimizepress-from-working/#post-800405 and it does load properly on my end. Screenshots in private content.

    Best regards,

Ah that’s weird, it’s working now! Guess it was a temporary issue of some kind.

    Thanks!
    – James.

    #801705

Another issue is that when my pages load, they show as solid grey (the background, I think) – sometimes for as long as 2-3 seconds – before loading the actual content. You can see what I mean at http://www.digitalprosperity.com/the-prosperity-formula .

Is this delay fixable somehow? As that time is harming conversion rates for my prospects on slower connections.

    Thanks,
    – James.

    #801830

    Hi,

You can try to disable all the plugins and check if theres some problem because this isnt a grey screen and yes two redirect to the same URL.

    Best regards,
    John Torvik

    #804718

Thanks John, but what do you mean by “yes two redirect to the same URL”? Could you clarify?

I’m basically just trying to remove the 1-2 second flash of an empty grey background.

    Thanks,
    – James.

    #806154

    Hi,

You can only remove that ” flash ” with a cache plugin I think.
Nothing else that actually can do that type of work. If you cache, the page will load faster and the issue will be solved.

    Best regards,
    Basilis
