    I already had one site up and running.

    Site #1 – Current running site
    WordPress Address (URL) http://www.XXXXX.com
    Site Address (URL) http://www.XXXXXX.com
    Running Enfold and working great..

    BUT, the new site installed shows this:
    Site #2 – New site
    WordPress Address (URL) http://www.xxxxxxx.com/xxxxxx <<<(Folder where WP files are located)
    Site Address (URL) http://www.xxxxxxx.com/xxxxxx <<<(Folder where WP files are located)

    My hosting company sent me this:
    Change URL

    And it takes me to this:
    WordPress Change URL

    I am just hesitant to edit files. What happens when there is an update.. don’t some of these files get over-written??

    Why is this? And how can I fix it? The second site will be using an HTTPS once it I have everything installed correctly..

    Please help..

    Hey Gene,

    This is not theme specific so any updates from us shouldn’t have any effect on where you site lives or what URL it uses. What exactly are you hesitant to do and why did you install WordPress in subfolder?

    OK got it no theme specific.. that is good..

    I just clicked the install button on our hosting site. and it asked what folder I wanted to put it in.. should I have said “root” and not put a folder??

    Sorry, I am still kind of new at this.. I got my other site installed correctly, but I cannot tell you how I did it, it has been so long and sine I do not do this all the time and not really my job, I just go with the flow. Please tell me the correct way. I can blow this one away and start over, no problem there..

    I really appreciate any help you can give to a novice in web building.. We are looking to use the Enfold theme with this site, the other one came out perfect..

    Hi Gene,

    Ok, no problem. The root folder is the one you want to install WordPress in unless you want your site to live in something like http://your.site/folder/. If you can start over then it might be better to do that.
