Network Media Library not working for all media elements

I have a multisite network.
To be able to use the same images throughout the network I’m using the Network Media Library plugin : https://github.com/humanmade/network-media-library

Using this plugin you can set one specific site id to be used for all images. Then all images appear in the library of each site in the network.
When using media elements in a page, they are all working on this specific site id.

When using media elements on a page of another site in the network, some don’t seem to work.
The following media elements don’t seem to work:

• image with hotspots
• easy slider
• fullwidth easy slider
• fullscreen slider
• partner/logo element
• horizontal gallery
• gallery
• masonry gallery

No image at all is shown on the page.

If for example site id 1 is set as site / directory where all images are stored and displayed in the gallery for all sites in the network:

• site id 1 : everything is working
• site id 2 : only ‘simple’ image elements are working properly, the above media elements are not showing the images on the page
• site id 3 : only ‘simple’ image elements are working properly, the above media elements are not showing the images on the page

Would there be a workaround? Is there a difference in how the images are called?
