I have a home page “Home” and several other pages.
Using the enfold settings I set this page as the home page.
If I go to the base url of my site, a 404 page is displayed.
If I set the 404 page with enfold to “redirect with selected page” and choose “Home” as 404 page, the home page is displayed with a
“/?avia_forced_reroute=1”. I need to choose forced redirect, if not a 404 error code is returned (but the page is displayed)What’s wrong with my settings?
The site is “https://alandshapedbywomen.com/”
Thanks for any help.

It’s not a good idea to set your home page as the 404 page for the reasons you listed above, it will return a 404 error and it’s also not good UX since your users won’t know why they are on the home page. Wouldn’t it be better to use a dedicated 404 page and give your users the option to navigate to other pages from there?

I know, but if I dont set the 404 page as the home, or if I remove the 404 page, the home page is not found.
ie if I go to the root of my site https://alandshapedbywomen.com/, I have a standard “page not found”displayed.
Did I miss how to set the home page? As stated in my question, I set the home page in “Frontpage settings”, but it doesnt work unless I force the 404 page as the home page.
Thanks,

Just found the problem:
Removing the “Page Transitions” option solved my problem.
Weird that it prevents the home page to display, but it now works.
Dont know if it’s a bug.Anyway, thanks.

June 14, 2019 at 1:59 pm #1110327OK, my bad.
Somebody made a new home page and didn’t update the menu, that’s why.
Since I’m taking over this site after a defacement, I have no idea of the site history.BTW, nice theme!
Thanks,
