Hi
There are a few things I’d like to do with tables. Don’t know if this is possible:
1. Title bold and range left, not italic and right.
2. I’d like to reduce the text size inside the table cells.
3. I’d like to be able to specify particular column widths – different for each table. You can see the kind of thing in the sample page I’ve submitted (the new ones won’t be on a dark background).
I tried switching from the advanced layout editor to the default, to see if I could see any code to tinker with (not my strong point but I thought I’d give it a go), but just got a completely blank edit window.

All of those style changes can be performed via css and the option available in the table element in the advanced layout editor.
To better assist you, I’d recommend that you create the tables you wish to copy on a test site or a live site, so we can provide you with the appropriate css or table settings.

My challenge – and I don’t know if this is do-able – is that while much of this is a global change, (centering and reducing text size), there are occasions when I want to force uneven columns.
In the private content you’ll see first a link to the existing site. The second is my re-build so far in Enfold. There are 2 tables. The second is fairly standard, but the first needs uneven columns.
In an ideal world I’d like table title range left, bold, and the same size as the body text. Then table text centered, and smaller so that it recreates the existing site – doesn’t keep breaking over onto 2 lines. I’d also like to change column widths.
I’m not a programmer, but I do have some experience with WordPress. If you can show me how this works I don’t mind tinkering with code to change parameters.
Thanks!

You can hard code the table manually by using a code or a text block. Refer to this link then look for the “Table Cells that Span Many Columns” section: http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_tables.asp

OK, so no way to look at the code for your tables and modify?
How do I get that table header bold and range left?
Thanks
BobAugust 26, 2015 at 10:13 am #493387OK – I’ve found a plugin that does a pretty good job (http://supsystic.com/plugins/data-tables-generator-plugin/)
It allows me to center, bold, etc and gives me a shortcode that I can put into your text block.
The only challenge is that there’s a blank row of cells across the top (see link to my site) Is this down to theme CSS and if so, how can I get rid of it.
Thanks
August 26, 2015 at 1:23 pm #493524Resolved. Thanks. Situation has been resolved by the folks over at http://supsystic.com/plugins/data-tables-generator-plugin/ whose support was terrific considering it’s a free plugin.
