    Hello together,

    at my new company, I got the job to care for the website, which is build with enfold. Unfortunately neither me nor my boss know who got the purchase code for the enfold-theme. It was bought and build by a former freelancer which apparently we can not contact right now.

    Could you help us out there? Any idea how to solve this?

    Thanks for contacting us!

    You are currently using a very old version of Enfold and updating it to the latest version 4.5.2 would probably fix the issues you are having.

    I am afraid the only way to get full support and theme updates is by having access to a Themeforest account which was used to purchase the theme.

    The easiest way would be to get in touch with your developer and ask him for the purchase code and an API key. That would allow you to create a forum account here (one that got access to more than the pre-sale question area) and would also allow you to update the theme from your backend.

    If you cant get in touch with your developer for whatever reason, you can also try to contact Envato support and ask them if its possible for them to credit the purchase to a Themeforest account of your own: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
    However this will probably only work if your developer already sent you a payment receipt or something similar for the purchase.

    Last option would be to create a themeforest account of your own and use it to re-purchase the theme.

    I hope one of the first two options works out for you, but unfortunately we can’t help until we have a valid verification that the theme was purchased properly. This is necessary for us, since there are quite a few people out there who don’t buy the theme on themeforest and instead download it for free on illegal file sharing sites and then even have the audacity to ask us for support.

    HEy Yigit,

    thanks very much. I did find the Themeforrest-API-Key in the backend-options and a name which I contacted. So I’ll wait for a reply.

    Hope do have an answer asap.

    I have acutally no current problems but with a version that old they are most probably to come.

    That is true. It is always recommended to keep the theme, plugins and WordPress updated.

    Hey there Yigit,

    thanks for the support so far. Apparently we cannot reach the guy who purchased this theme for us, so we are going to have to buy it for ourself again. I will do that latest by next week. Would be awesome to keep this channel open for further questions.

    Yes, that is the correct theme :)
    And when you purchase any theme it comes with 6 months free support.

    Hey there,

    we now did purchase the Theme. the purchase code is attached to private content. do you need any more Information?

    And should I switch the API-KEY now in the word-press-backend?

    API keys are no longer supported. You would need to use Personal Token. Please refer to this post and generate your token – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/ to receive auto updates :)
