Hi, I have a site with SSL certificate and are several days that I try to test with pingdom or google page speed but the site turns out to be slow and not performing as it should, since it is a very simple site should be fast.
When I open the site it seems that does not start immediately in httpsm in fact on pingdom.com if I do the test with http is very slow while if I repeat the test with https the result is good, apart from the errors to minimize javascript, etc ..I recently added Cloudflare’s DNS, I installed W3 Total Cache but it does not seem to change anything.
How can I solve this problem?
I show you the credentials to access the wordpress panel so you can check. Thanks!
March 17, 2018 at 10:38 am #928424first of all – it should not run in http mode anyway. If so – you have done something wrong on setting it up.
The reason for setting up a site as SSL secured is that it always runs this way.
After switching to https – did you realy change all entries concerning to that protokoll?
I mean not only the wordpress url / site url in General Options of WordPress.
Have you any entries concerning to your url f.e. in wp-config.php of your wordpress install or in htaccess ?
For my customers who switched a running system to https – i do a Search and Replace in Database to realy be sure that every link was switched. This is a realy nice tool – but be shure what you do.
F.e. a desaster would be to search for http and replace it with https –
so better to use the replace domain url option – or to search for more specific text like http://your-domain and replace it with https://your-domainDepending on your provider, you can set a forced https option – but this is possible in htaccess as well.
But i guess real performance problems comes from setting up the cdn in combination with caching tools.
So i guess you would like to wait til a mod here has a login and look to your installation.March 17, 2018 at 11:36 am #928435Thanks for the reply, now I explain what I did:
1) After switching to https – did you realy change all entries concerning to that protokoll?
1) Yes i did by plugin SSL Insecure Content Fixer, it checked all the http entries and changed them to https, I think.2) in the file config.php I did not do anything but when I installed W3 Total Cache I still had not set the http protocol on my website. Maybe that has generated a bit of confusion, in fact in the “.htaccess” file I checked and there are some rumors http but as I can not read well I have attached in a text file in private content (i don’t know if it’s correct)
3) But i guess real performance problems comes from setting up the cdn in combination with caching tools.
So i guess you would like to wait til a mod here has a login and look to your installation.
3) Can you log in and check my installation?thanks!
March 17, 2018 at 12:33 pm #928445I also noticed that in the “function.php” file of my main theme, Enfold, it starts with “<? php” but there is no closing tag “?>” Maybe it’s done the Enfold theme this way or it’s an error that could cause problems? I discovered this because I wanted to move the scripts from the head to the footer through a copy to paste in the function.php file.
Thanks!
March 17, 2018 at 12:37 pm #928446no that is ok that your child-theme functions.php do not have that closing tag.
And no i can not login – because i’m Participant as you – i do not see private content area
March 17, 2018 at 12:45 pm #928447Ok, so, have you read the previous question before this? I i’m sorry for the long .htaccess file.

March 20, 2018 at 6:48 am #929528Hi,
I’m sorry but I think you forgot the url to the site. Please add it in the private field so that we can check the network reports. Is the site hosted on a dedicated server?
Best regards,
IsmaelMarch 20, 2018 at 3:54 pm #929895Yes sorry but now my website i think works good, in otherwise the URL it’s in private.
My hosting provider yesterday did a check and now it’s everything ok.
Thank you.
