    Hi Kriesi!

I have discovered a little issue on my site. My site was working fine, and I have a button in my header which says ‘log in’ if a customer is not logged in.. or ‘log out’ if they are logged in.
However; until recently my website cannot detect if a cusotmer is logged in. Everything works fine.. just the button does not display ‘log out’.

Here are some images to show you exactly what I mean..

Also when I add or delete a product in my shop.. it doesnt seem to update or reflect properly on my site.
Everything looks fine and is updated correctly when I go to this link – http://www.interiorinnovations.com.au/store/living/prints/
BUT i do not use this link/URL..
I have made my own page – http://www.interiorinnovations.com.au/living/prints/
and recently added products do not display on this page.

I assumed maybe it was because of caching.. so I cleared page caching – No change.
Then I deactivated W3 Total Cache and removed any caching codes in my .htaccess file. But this hasnt worked either. I have also looked on the forum and no one seems to have this problem.

I am so confused as to why this is happening. The only thing that has changed is that I have updated WordPress and gotten a SSL Cert and Sitelock on my site.

If the problem cant be fixed.. how do I remove this log in button? I rememeber copying the code from someone elses forum question. But I dont remember what that code was because it was so long ago.
    Thankyou and Help :(

    Hi,

Does it happen with the default WordPress theme?

    Cheers!

    Hi Josue.

I changed the theme to Twenty Fourteen (Word Press default theme)… and yes this still occurs :(
Its weird because the home page continued to stay with the Enfold Theme but with product pages and posts.. the theme had changed to Twenty Fourteen.

    :(

I spoke to soon… changing the theme worked!
I just had to clear page cache.. silly me.

Also I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and the rest of the Kriesi Team a Merry Christmas!

Thankyou, once again for all your help. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas break xx

    Hey!

I’m pretty sure that the login issue is related to a problem with the authentication cookie – especially if you can reproduce it with any, random theme or a standard wordpress setup without additional themes/plugins. Personally I recommend to contact the hoster because it’s often a server or configuration related issue. See http://codex.wordpress.org/Login_Trouble and http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Cookies

    Cheers!

    Hi dude,

I contacted them and they said it was an issue that only I could see :S
Apparently everything was looking fine from their end.
I told them how this issue is appearing on every device I use in my home (e.g – my laptop, computer, ipad, phone)
They told me that the issue can just be seen from ‘my end’ and I am meant to clear the internet network caching?
I am not sure if they are correct. When you logged into my site did you see the same issue? Was the site able to detect that you were logged on?
If you are getting the same error and there is no known way to fix it.. I am going to go ahead and upload an old backup of my site.
This issue has stressed me to the limit :(

Never mind guys. I uploaded a backup version of my site before this error occurred. The site is working fine now.
I guess we wont know what the real error was and how it could have been fixed.

But thank you all for the help and support.

    Merry Christmas!
