Hello,
I am using The Events Calendar plugin to manage my events. It created custom post types for events. On the homepage I have created a row and added the content element of blog posts and selected the event categories. They display well and look good. But unfortunately, they do not link to the main event page like other blog previews do.
Any ideas? Can you help?
November 19, 2016 at 5:49 pm #714364This is only happening on the homepage. On other pages (see link) where I experimented by adding the events in different ways, they link just fine. I’ve gone over and over the settings. I can’t see that I am doing anything different when I set up the blog posts or post slider or whatever on the homepage. Yet they link on the test page and not on the homepage!
November 19, 2016 at 10:23 pm #714384Hi!
It seems that there is an open image somewhere, that goes on top of those events and do not make them look good.
Not so sure where, if you can not find it, add us backend access so we can give it a look. Thanks a lot
Cheers!
BasilisNovember 19, 2016 at 10:29 pm #714385What do you mean by “an open image?”
November 19, 2016 at 10:35 pm #714387And also what do you mean by something that goes “on top of” events? What events? What can be on top of them?
November 20, 2016 at 12:04 pm #714470Hey!
I check the source and it seems that there is a layer, most probably an image, that has not been closed as tag and it overlaps through the rest of the areas.
That has to be fixed and the way is by editing the page.
If you can not find which is, provide us backend access so we can take a lookRegards,
BasilisNovember 20, 2016 at 3:59 pm #714522Oh! A closed tag. Of course. But I used Advanced layout builder. So I think the closed tag has to be in the original content that was already on one of the blog posts. But wait – I just created all those as new events – copying and pasting into the front end. I’m perplexed as to where an unclosed tag could be or could have come from. But I’ll look at all the code and if I don’t find it I will post access credentials for you here. Thanks!

Best regards,
BasilisNovember 21, 2016 at 2:57 pm #714827I can’t find the open tag. I also tried putting all the “events” in pending mode and turning them on one by one. The thing with the open tag is why would they be open on this page but not on the other page that worked? Anyway, I am stuck. I have added a user to give you access and will add the credentials in the private content area below.
November 23, 2016 at 5:53 pm #716086Have you logged in and had a look? Any ideas why this is an issue on the home page but not the test page?
November 28, 2016 at 7:18 am #717589Hi!
It is covered by the image overlay. What is this css modification for?
.home .av-image-caption-overlay-center { vertical-align: bottom; padding-bottom: 80%; }
If you remove that css modification, the event items’ link will work.
Cheers!
IsmaelDecember 10, 2016 at 10:19 pm #722743Oh! I think that must have been pulled from the previous theme or else something Kresi told me to add to align the caption. But regardless I removed the CSS and now the events “read more” links do work.
