Hi there,
I started off using the regular editor inside blog posts, which worked great. However, then I switched over to ‘advanced layout editor’ for all my posts.
In doing so though, my blog page stopped displaying correctly. Now if I go into my blog page and change any of the settings within ‘blog posts’ it doesn’t update. Nor does changing it to ‘masonry’ update anything on the blog page.
I also seem to be unable to switch back to using basic editor on my posts – if I disable ‘advanced layout editor’ then I am left with a blank page and all my content disappears.
Do I need to enter my blog posts manually into the blog page now that I switched my blogs to advanced layout editor?
I would love it to go back to how it was, where my blog posts were pulled automatically and displayed on the blog page.
Thank you!

If you use the advanced layout editor for your posts then they behave kind of like a page. The comments, post title, post meta, etc etc, does not display and in the blog list there will be no excerpt. This is to give the user complete control over how stuff gets displayed.
You can setup a custom excerpt when editing your post but if that feels like too much work then it would be best to just use the default editor when writing your posts.
Best regards,

By ‘custom insert’ do you mean putting a blog caption manually into the blog page for each entry?
Is there any way I can go back to using the default editor without having to re-do all my posts from scratch? I switched them all to advanced editor but I seem to not be able to switch them back.
Thanks very much.

I do not think there is a way to do that. The advanced layout editor and the default editor saves their content separately.
