A few days about my site started doing weird things. I’ve lost the ability to use the Avia Layout builder on any new post but existing ones work find, every time I make a change to a block or other elements the page scrolls back to the top and I have to scroll back to where I just was, It’s duplicating blocks and the content within them on my site, and comments turned on by themselves on at least one post, it also made the post referenced super skinny instead of full width when all I did was attempt to add new content to the page, and blocks/elements have been removed from pages.
My theme is the Enfold Child. My theme, WP, and widgets are all up to date.
Can someone help?

August 3, 2024 at 12:48 pm #1463692Hey ScatmanAT,
Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (6.0.2) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/.
Best regards,
RikardAugust 3, 2024 at 6:36 pm #1463711Thanks!
I’m bad about reading the odd messages that appear on my dashboard. As a result my token key was super out of date, and that meant the automatic theme updates weren’t going even though it said it was up to date. I was on 4.5.3 or something. It appears to be working now. I only did a quick overlook as I have to run to the hospital. I’ll do a more thorough look later and confirm for sure.Craig

It sounds like you have this sorted out now, please let us know if we should close this thread.Best regards,
MikeAugust 4, 2024 at 5:27 pm #1463772Mike,
I have two issues still.
#1 I moved on color block up my page and every block/element below where that was disappeared. This happened both before and after I did the update.
#2 At the page for the link provided, that page loads completely. Everything that should show does, but on the backend in the editor, every block/element below the “Colorado Trail Planning Aids” isn’t there. It’s like the blocks/elements don’t exist. This means I can’t make changes to the entire lower half of that post.

August 4, 2024 at 6:04 pm #1463775Hi,
It sounds like you are switching back and forth between the ALB and the WordPress Block editor, this will cause issues. Please only use one editor when you create a page.
Perhaps I misunderstand and a screenshot would help.
We will need a admin login in the private content area so we can be of more assistance.Best regards,

I only use ALB.

August 5, 2024 at 4:57 pm #1463852Mike,
I found something that might help. If I insert the template named “CTR PA 2024” into a post and drag it up into the post. Anything that is now below that template will not show in the ALB but does show up online as it should. That template was built before I updated my theme. I’m going to rebuild it again and replace the current one to see if that brings things back to normal.
Craig
Update:
CTR PA 2024 is in three posts (Colorado Trail Made Easy: Essential Step-by-Step Planning Guide, Colorado Trail Transportation Guide, and Colorado Trail Resupply Guide). The two where I just added it and did nothing else, look fine for the end user, but I can’t see elements below the CTR PA 204 template I inserted. If I make any changes and save it, the page as the end user views no longer show everything as it did before. The only one that does work with the CTR PA 2024 inserted in it, I went back and added all the elements that were missing (this is the Colorado Trail Made Easy: Essential Step-by-Step Planning Guide).
I tried to rebuild the Tab element to remake the section in question and everything I did on one tab would appear on the other two tabs.- This reply was modified 3 months, 2 weeks ago by ScatmanAT.
August 6, 2024 at 5:12 pm #1463963Hi,
When I check the /colorado-trail-resupply-guide/ page, I the backend ends with the tab section “bundles” and the next section “WATER RESUPPLY” doesn’t show on the backend.
I also note that the entire tab for the “bundles” is not showing, I see many empty columns:
Are these columns meant to show content? Or is this also broken?
I see the last working column has unclosed div tags:
unclosed HTML tags can break the page structure and cause the builder to close the page early, try to recreate the page from scratch on a new blank page and don’t use the template, and be careful when pasting text, as some browsers also paste the HTML, so check for this.
If this works correctly save this as your new template and delete the old template, typically once a template is saved with broken HTML tags it can not be corrected and resaved, thus the need to create a new blank one and saved.Best regards,
MikeAugust 7, 2024 at 1:56 pm #1464027Mike,
I rebuilt the resupply page and it’s fine. I preformed a partial rebuild of the Colorado Trail Made Easy: Essential Step-by-Step Planning Guide and it’s okay so far.
Unfortunately a PAGE (Colorado Trail Guide – Bikepacking) I hadn’t even put that broken template on is doing the same thing. First the bottom third of the page disappeared, I replaced it and it was fine, then I wake up this morning and all the new items I added have moved into the “food / water” tab, the camping tab is empty, and the “highlights” tab now only contains the same data as the “difficulties” tab. But everything shows fine on the actual website.
I can find no unclosed HTML tags to have caused this. At this point I’m afraid to make any changes to any page on my site in fear I’m going to have to rebuild the page if I do.

August 7, 2024 at 11:19 pm #1464068Hi,
Glad that this helped some, when I check your page (Colorado Trail Guide – Bikepacking) I find a broken shortcode at the bottom:
and when I check the backend I see more broken shortcode:
and when I click to edit “columns”
these all open as “text elements” instead the “columns” that they show as:
This page looks totally broken, please recreate from scratch and delete the template.Best regards,
MikeAugust 7, 2024 at 11:32 pm #1464070Mike,
Thanks again Mike!
In between me sending my last question and now another page has done the same thing. I can’t keep rebuilding these pages. Can you give me insight to how this keeps happening, and things I can do to hopefully make it stop?
Thanks,
Craig

August 8, 2024 at 1:42 am #1464075Hi,
I do not know how this page broke, but if you used the same broken temples on many pages then they will also be broken.
When I check your page the first error I find is in this text element with this double closing “p” tag:
it is hard to examine line-by-line for other errors, but as I posted above some of these errors have broken the shortcode, so your best approach is to re-create this page from scratch and check your pasted text for rouge HTML tags.
Are you copying this site from another site, or are you bulk importing the pages?
This is typically I see this kind error.Best regards,
MikeAugust 8, 2024 at 2:00 am #1464080Mike,
That same mistake is probably on ever one of my important post!
I’m not copying anything when I make them. That line of code is from a saved template.
To recreate them I’m copying from the old posts and checking the code each time. I haven’t bothered to check the code on the templates because this first started with one Ive already replaced per your suggestion. Clearly that one wasn’t the only mistake. All the new post I just redid have the extra </p>, but their working. Will they stop at some point?
What course of action would you have me do?

You’ll need to edit the pages using this template to correct the invalid html code. Why is an inline stylesheet being used? The css rule in the screenshot seems too generic and doesn’t target specific elements by their class names or IDs.
