I just recently bought a new domain and want to switch my site over. I have never done this and am worried about losing all my content and settings. Could you explain to me how to do this safety?
Thanks.

I just want to double check, but this will migrate all files, pictures, comments, and so on from my one URL to the other?
June 15, 2015 at 6:53 pm #459585Hi!
Yes it will. You can have a backup of wp-content/uploads, wp-content/themes and wp-content/plugins folder to be on the safe side.
Cheers!

BasilisFebruary 2, 2025 at 12:05 pm #1476163hi guys, just before you close the ticket, does it mean that we can move our them property to another domain name (like because a company name change) ? we cant still transfer the property of the theme to the new domain by cancelling the previous association ?
February 2, 2025 at 3:15 pm #1476179Hi,
You can move the site and theme to a new domain, once it is done delete the first domain files / and or the first domain.
There is no association to the domains to cancel, the only issue that you would have is if you have more than one domain with the same license when the theme checks the license, but the license is not locked to a specific domain.
To move (clone) from one domain to another, I would recommend the plugin Duplicator see the video.Best regards,
