    I want to modify home page layout using parts of existing templates. The closest to what I want to work with is the Homepage V2: 3 Columns + Contact excepts I wish to replace the av_section_1 with the blog (latest news and testimonial) from Home V3 layout. Is there a simple way to modify layout elements or do I need to create a custom template?

    You can simply modify the layout of a page with Advance Layout Builder. Please watch this video on how to use the Advance Layout Editor:
