Hi,
I been looking into ways to speed up my website and one of the challenges I am currently facing is that my site has images or a layout that is not ideal for mobile users. It also is very slow to load do to the responsive resizing. I was wondering if there were any recommendation you would have…wptouch seems like one way to go. Are there any other or ones that the kristi themes provide?

Can you post a link to your website? i don’t think using a mobile theme plugin will work with Enfold because the theme uses a lot of shortcodes.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will use JPG for my images and I have already been using minify. Besides the load time, the other challenge I had was maybe loading my photography posts to ideally be the size of a smart phone. Much like a instagram post would be.

I’m sorry but it’s not possible to serve different thumbnail size when viewing on mobile device without modifying the theme files. What you can do it to optimize the site using the following. Usually minimizing the image file sizes and number of plugins that you install will greatly improve the performance. These are the things that you can do to optimize the website speed and page load courtesy of the wordpress community:
1. Optimize all images with AI/Photoshop before uploading to server ‘save as web safe’ jpg as Josue suggested.
2. Once all images are on the website, optimize with ewww optimizer plugin twice 1hr 10mins apart.
3. Install wp-smushit run once to remove jpeg extra data, then uninstall.
4. Use BWP minify plugin to minify scripts and stylesheets.
5. Install WP-Super cache, select all recommended settings. You can also W3 Total Cache with minify settings.
6. Logout your website, visit every page at least once to create super cache files.
7. Join Cloudflare setup your website on their CDN, Choose options: Full CDN Optimisation save then activate purge files. once done log out.
8. Have a cup of coffee.
9. Visit your site after 20 minutes or so.
10. Don’t forget to smile.Of course, improving the hosting plan is a must if you want to fully optimize the website.
