Hi guys,
I’ve had a problem for some time now and I am just getting around to asking you about it. The mobile site is not functioning correctly on an iPhone 5s with OS 7.0.6. It also had the issue with past firmware versions so this issue is not related to the device itself.
1. When I load the site vertically it renders correctly.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1049926/vertical_correct.PNG2. When I rotate the phone horizontally the site renders incorrectly. the slider does not expand to the full horizontal length.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1049926/horizontal_incorrect.PNG3. However, if I load the site horizontally the site loads correctly.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1049926/horizontal_correct.PNG4. If I then rotate the phone vertically the site renders incorrectly.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1049926/vertical_incorrect.PNGThe site is not functioning properly when the device is rotated. You must reload the site to see the correct dimension and view in each orientation.
Here is a site that loads correctly and renders correctly upon rotation. If I rotate my phone from vertical or horizontal and back again it functions correctly.

February 23, 2014 at 3:42 am #228035Hi Jasmer!
I don’t have access to an iOS device and honestly I’m not sure if this can be easily fix. I’ll ask Kriesi and the rest of the support team to pitch in. I’m sure you already set the Global Settings to be responsive.
Cheers!
IsmaelFebruary 23, 2014 at 11:31 am #228106Hi Ismael,
Yes I have it set to responsive layout 1210px. See here..
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1049926/Screen%20Shot%202014-02-23%20at%201.27.19%20AM.pngAlso here is a video showing the issue.
[video src="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1049926/IMG_0083.mp4" /]Does this issue exist on an Android? Windows phone? Do you have access to these? do any of the developers have access to an iPhone?
This really shouldn’t be doing this. All mobile site I have seen have worked like this one with the banner adjusting properly with rotation.

February 23, 2014 at 4:54 pm #228135Hi!
As far as I know its an issue specifically with LayerSlider which we aren’t the developers for. Its an included plugin that the theme has support and I believe what is happening is that the rotation switch isn’t able to readjust without the slide going to the next item.
The next update to the theme updates LayerSlider as well and in that version of the plugin the fix is included.

DevinFebruary 23, 2014 at 9:07 pm #228205Hey Devin,
In my case, as I’m sure you noticed, there is no next slide just a static image.
I won’t hold you to this but I imagine you will have some estimate. Do you have any idea when the next update will be released? Just curious if you have a general projection of time frame.
Thanks, Jas
February 24, 2014 at 8:44 am #228369Hey!
There’s no ETA yet but I guess we’ll release it in two weeks. However I can’t say it for sure because sometimes we decide to add some other features and bug fixes before we release a new update and then it can take longer.
Cheers!
PeterFebruary 24, 2014 at 10:40 am #228406Thanks Peter,
I hope we can get this resolved as I am about to use Enfold for a client site. Do you mind leaving this case open? I’ll remember to get back to you after the next release.
Thanks for your time, Jas

YigitMarch 11, 2014 at 12:20 am #235056Hi guys,
I just updated the theme to 2.6. The problem still exists. I see in the LayerSlider interface that LayerSlider was updated on March 6th and included some appearance issues fixes.
“Changes in version 5.1.1 (6th March 2014)
Fixed some appearance issues
Fixed an issue in the new import method”It seems Enfold was updated with the most recent (March 6) version of LayerSlider but still the problem persists.
Thank you, Jas
March 11, 2014 at 8:48 am #235292We can keep this thread separate, but I wanted to point out that my two threads are related.

In talking with George at Kreatura Media, I have discovered that this issue does not occur on kreaturamedia.com Their site works as it should upon rotation from portrait to landscape to portrait.
I see that this problem does exist however on the Enfold Theme demo site here
http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/ on the first link.. Home v1: Landing Page StyleSo I am thinking that this issue is not a plugin conflict because the issue appears on both my site and the Enfold theme demo.
Can you please look into this.
Thanks for your time, Jas

its actually super easy: just an option in the backend that needs to be deactivated. layerslider has a “compatibility fullwidth” mode for themes that do not support fullwidth out of the box and this is somehow causing the issue. Deactivating this mode makes the layeslider resize properly on rotation:

KriesiMarch 11, 2014 at 10:34 pm #235904In my slider it is deactivated. Isn’t this correct? If this setting is correct then the problem still exists. Hmm.

March 11, 2014 at 10:42 pm #235913It works now thanks but I don’t see the change in my settings. Why do my settings screenshot look the same as your settings screenshot? Did I just take that screenshot after your disabled it?

Was that it?March 11, 2014 at 10:43 pm #235916I changed your theme settings to the way it is now and posted the screenshot. “Full width” was previously enabled and I disabled it ;)
Glad it works now- This reply was modified 10 years, 8 months ago by Kriesi.
March 11, 2014 at 10:48 pm #235920GRACIAS Kriesi, case closed! I’m starting on two sites for two clients soon with Enfold (of course will purchase licenses ;) ! Jas
