I have the mobile menu settings set up as “Display submenu items on hover.” The parent items don’t link anywhere (URL is #). When I click on the parent item on mobile the submenu displays fine. When I click on it to close, it closes fine as well. However, if I click on it to open the submenus again, it shows the submenu quickly and disappears. After the second attempt of seeing the submenu items, they no longer show on mobile.

Can you deactivate caching and minification, so that we can test better. Also check if the issue persists once you deactivated that plugin.

VictoriaSeptember 12, 2017 at 10:09 pm #851260Hi,
We are using WPEngine so we are not able to turn off caching. However, in our staging environment it is completely cacheless. I went ahead and turned off the Autoptimize plugin there and that still didn’t do anything.
Any other suggestions? I’ll provide credentials to the staging site so you can look further.
September 13, 2017 at 3:48 pm #851612Hi shreinmedia,
You have a header.php in your child theme. Do you have any modifications there? You need to either merge it with a fresh copy, or remove it from the child theme, if there are no modifications there.
Best regards,
VictoriaSeptember 13, 2017 at 7:17 pm #851699I removed the header.php from my child theme (on the staging environment) and the problem still occurs.
September 14, 2017 at 11:07 am #851977Hi shreinmedia,
Do you mean that you still have disappearing menu items? I only see the open-close-open animation for the submenu opening. Does it not work for you to have those submenus open all the time?
You have so many things embedded and so many plugins, it looks like some plugin conflict.
Best regards,
VictoriaSeptember 14, 2017 at 6:09 pm #852251The issue has been the open-close animation on the submenu. The first time I click on the submenu it opens fine. But after the second, third, fourth, etc. time, it opens and closes. No longer allowing me to see the submenu.
I have turned off all plugins on my staging site (which has caching off) and the issue remains. This does not look like it’s a plugin conflict but an issue with the theme.
We’ve had this issue for more than 2 weeks with no resolution. What else can be done?
September 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm #853064Hi,
Thank you for coming back.
It seems to be an issue concerning touch screens only (using a desktop and minimize the window to show burger menu it works fine).
I opened a bug issue so we will focus on this problem and will try to find a solution as soon as possible.
We will inform you, when we have found a solution. Thank you for your patience.
Can you give us ftp access to your staging site please so we can test a possible solution?
