For some reason i cant seem to be able to get the mobile menu to work properly. It shows up in the middle of the window (doesnt function either) and also it still shows the old menu.

Did you modify any templates in the child theme folder like the header.php file? Please get a fresh copy of the file from the parent theme folder then redo the modification.
