    Hey stuff,
i’ve got a weired problem, which comes up immediately after hitting the enfold save button.
    prerequisites:
Setup up enfold with WPML and some plugins of course.
Made a clone from it for development in subdir of main domain /staging1
The target Domain is a clone in a subdir from main domain , we are working in at the moment.

After changing a breadcrumb setting in enfold DE , clickin save button , the error occured. It manifested in loosing the font for frontpage boxes. (The frontpage is a mod from your enfold “medical” demo installation. ) You easily can compare it with main domain frontpage.

The enfold EN section did still work. After clicking “save” button in enfold EN settings, the EN section frontpage had the same error, missing fonts.

I did a staging2 to verify withour doing any settings, … same reproducable issue occurs.

The Plesk Log error gives a
    2021-05-12 15:58:00 Error 78.94.85.162 500 POST /staging1/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php HTTP/1.0 …. more see private section pls!

Can you please help with this issue ? And have a look deeper inside ?

    Thanks a lot, marcus

    Hey Marcus,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

We are not seeing the error in the site anymore, but it looks like an issue with the import process. Do you see still see the issue inside the dashboard?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Yes. The issues is still there. May I explain again. (Additional the enfold menu entry now shows two “Theme Options” subemenu entries – maybe it helps)

Pls. see private section for URLs.

Can you please confirm, that you have tried an import of an export you previously made, as an attempt to understand the issue and see teh error message coming up ?

    Thanks, marcus

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

Do you want us to export and import the theme options back in the staging site? Would you mind providing a screenshot of the issue? If necessary, you can configure the fonts in the Enfold > General Styling > Fonts panel, and the breadcrumb and title settings in the Header > Header Layout panel. We do not encounter any issues or errors when we try to change the theme options.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Dear Isamel, may I explain again more specific. The problem is NOT to change an option itself.

The resulting problem is missing font(s) at entry page, which IS caused by editing ANY Option withing this specific installation. (“staging1”, reproducable ! And it seems to be a bug in enfold itself in this constallation )

To fix this and to verify logical options, we were able to reproduce the import of an older enfold setting’s export in another cloned from original installation (called “staging2″, reproducable as well), but not possible in this installation we wanted to fix (staging1) , without causing an error already mentioned.

So , yes, please try it out by yourself to export/ import – then you will see the error itself coming up, telling that not action performed. (I already sent credential days ago in private section. )

Pls see link to error screenshot in private section.

    revised 19.05.2021:
I found some errors when firing up the settings import.
It strongly seems that Avia Layout Builder causes this issue.

    see log:

POST /staging1/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php HTTP/1.0 firing on enfold settings import
    gives a error 500.
    after that shows in log:

AH01071: Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Argument 1 passed to avia_wp_import::extract_default_values() must be of the type array, null given, called in /var/www/vhosts/************.de/httpdocs/staging1/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/function-set-avia-ajax.php on line 1074 and defined in /var/www/vhosts/**********.de/httpdocs/staging1/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/wordpress-importer/avia-import-class.php:302\nStack trace:\n#0 /var/www/vhosts/**********.de/httpdocs/staging1/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/function-set-avia-ajax.php(1074): avia_wp_import->extract_default_values(NULL, Array, Array)\n#1 /var/www/vhosts/*********.de/httpdocs/staging1/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(292): avia_ajax_import_config_file(”)\n#2 /var/www/vhosts/*********.de/httpdocs/staging1/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(316): WP_Hook->apply_filters(”, Array)\n#3 /var/www/vhosts/***********.de/httpdocs/staging1/wp-includes/plugin.php(484): WP_Hook->do_action(Array)\n#4 /var/www/vhosts/**********.de/…’, referer: https://www.***********.de/staging1/wp-admin/admin.php?page=avia

How can we proceed to locate the error ?

Thanks again for helpig to fix issue, marcus

i added some log information above for Avia seems to cause the “Couldn’t import the config because the server didn’t respond.
Please reload the page, then try again” in conjunction with ???

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

We exported the theme options and imported it back, but we were not able to reproduce the issue or we did not encounter any errors. Please note that you do not have to click the save button when importing the theme options. It will just automatically save the options and refresh the page. (see private field)

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Dear Ismael,
I can confirm that exporting actual settings and importing those seems to work.
But this attempt does not help to fix a corrupt layout. Restoring a corrupt layout is not the desired option. I would like to restore a working backup, of course. And this fails.

May I ask you therefore, first to try to restore the backup file named “Enfold-theme-settings-2021-3-2-1.txt”
and tell me your experience and how to fix it ?

After this you pls would try the cloned exportet settings (from /staging3, “Enfold-staging3-DE-settings-2021-5-20.txt”) and see that this does not work either.

(Addionalls theere is something weird: in menu below the “enfold” item there shows up two times “Theme Options” – maybe it helps at diagnostics)

    thanks again, marcus

A new hint, it seems to have something to do with enfold (4.8.2).
After updating from a enfold (4.7.6.4) on a /staging2 i encounter the exact same problems with the missing fonts. I hope this helps you professional coders to find the issue in enfold 4.8.2 easily. This issue is reproducable.

    Hi,

We tried to import the file that you mentioned above but the process fails. Unfortunately, we will not be able to tell what is actually wrong with the import file. You may understand if you check the content of actual text or import file below. (see private field)

Do you have an actual site backup or a restore point? Please do not rely on the import file and make sure to always create a full site and database backup. You may need to manually reconfigure some of the options that are missing in the current installation, or if possible, restore the site to a previous point.

You can also get a copy of the theme options directly from the database. Look for the avia_options_enfold_child or avia_options_enfold entry inside the _options table.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
