I am trying to move a site I built in WordPress in a sub-directory to the root directory. I called Bluehost, my hosting service, to help, and the site comes up if we change the theme, but is pulling a 500 error with the Enfold theme active.

We went into file manager, copied all the files out of the sub directory and pasted them into the root directory and changed the URL. This works as long as we take down the theme. So there’s something in the theme that needs to be updated but I can’t find it.

Are there any database changes needed? What can you recommend to migrate this theme to keep it working?

    Thank you so much!

    Hey heremollygirl,

I can recommend WP Migrate DB: https://deliciousbrains.com/wp-migrate-db-pro/. I’m not sure if we can help with your problem though, 500 internal server error can be anything really. Your hosting provider should be in a better position to help you out with that since they have access to server logs.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
