    Hello Folks,

I have kind of a pre-sale question though I already own a few licenses and am running a couple of sites using Enfold.

Reason being that the most important project / site I maintain is not running with Enfold but with a rather useless theme (featuring also useless “support”) and due to the current WP5 Misery I’m planning to migrate this site to a new server environment and using Enfold as a theme.

So far so good, but there will be a few challenges coming along with this idea and that’s why I have only a few questions to bug you with ..

The only important area of real concern is that

    1. the site is pretty huge (some 500+ pages most of which have a lot (and I mean a L O T) of (static) text on’em and

    2. to make all this text stuff as easy as possible to digest for users .. it is all organized in Accordions (Old Section Accordions) with lots of different tabs/toggles.

The site in general is all static … or better said .. it’s been the worst copy/paste job ever … globally ;)

    So here are my questions…

    1. How to best migrate pages/tabs/text to Enfold?

Do you see any other (better) way than to manually re-create all pages .. manually create tabs/toggles .. and manually copy/paste all contents into the new site?

    2. Scroll Open Tab/Toggle to top of screen

A few years back I had a nice remote Nepalese developer write me a few quick lines of code to hack the jquery accordion to make the open Toggle scroll to the top of the screen which is essential due to the masses of text on those pages. It’s very nice and very user friendly so I must somehow implement this on the new site as well – no way around this feature which obviously does not come out of the box with Enfold. Have you had similar tasks before on how to achieve this and – most important – it is possible in the first place with Enfold and which files would be the ones to target? I’ll be setting things up with a child theme as these will be major changes which must be update-proof.

I’ll provide details about this script alteration in the private section ..

Thx in adavence for any suggestions on this …

    Axel

    Hey Apachee,

    Thank you for contacting us.

    1. To manually transfer the Accordion content from the current site to Enfold theme, you have to add them one by one manually and it can be time-consuming. However, Enfold supports shortcodes so it can be a tad bit quicker if you use a text editor and shortcode to just paste the accordion content inside the shortcode first and then paste the shortcode in the WordPress page.

    2. Your custom script can be integrated into the Accordion element to make it scroll to the top when a user clicks on it. But this will take a lot of time so it is out of our support scope. You can hire a freelancer to do this job.

    Best regards,
    Vinay
