    Hello,
For the two sites below, I have a menu problem with tablets :
When pressing the entries for which there are select down choices, the page loads but no select down appears.
The user cannot access to the pages that are proposed in the select down part of the menu.
Happens for Ipad 4, Samsung tablets S2 & S4, I can reproduce it with chrome > dev tools > ipad.
Is this a known issue ?
What can I do to correct that ?
    Thanks,
    Jerome.

    Hey Jérôme,

That is the default behaviour of the menu, you can have the parents or children clickable. You can change those settings under Enfold->Header->Mobile Menu.

    Thanks Rikard,

I’ve tried this solution, but when I do that the “classical” menu bar is not present anymore.

What happens is that on landscape position on a tablet the logo bar stays fixed with the empty menu space above it, and the content is seen scrolling above the menu bar, which is not elegant.

I’m still looking for a way round – probably desactivating the “main link” and reintegrating it in the drop down menu.

    Hi Jerome,

Thanks for the feedback, I’m not sure if I understand your problem completely to be honest. Could you post a screenshot of it maybe? I think that should make things more clear.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

I’m posting the link to a screenshot.

If I choose to show the mobile menu on tablets, it create an empty space above the logo area.
When scrolling down the page, the content of the website is seen in this space – not nice.

NB : the original problem that on tablets, drop down menu is not accessible is not true on all tablets – it works fine on my ipad2 – why is it ok on some tablets and not others ?

Maybe the theme cannot allow a satisfying option in this case and I should disable all first level menu links that command drop down and place the links in the drop downs ?

    Best regards,

    — Jerome.

Yes, I think that’s a very wise solution. It’s possible that the “dropdown” script is not being executed properly by other devices. However, we would still like to inspect the “space” issue in the header of the “marchecouvert-albi” site once the mobile menu is activated. Please post the login details so that we can inspect the settings.

Can you please edit your previous post to hide my customers website name ?
    Thanks !

    Hi,

when activating mobile menu for tablet, then use this code inside Quick CSS field:

    .av-section-bottom-logo.header_color {
    top: 0px;
    }

    Hope this helps!

    Best regards,
    Andy

    Hello,

Thaks a lot, it looks better with that code although it creates other gaps.

In the meanwhile, I’ve spotted the same problem on vertical left menu mode.

Check the example site : set your chrome browser to ipad, clic on “l’audition” ou “l’appareillage” = not possible to access the drop down menu.

And not possible in the theme settings to choose the mobile menu for tablets (!)

Plese clear browser cache and hard refresh a few times.

    Hi Andy,

I’ve tried refreshing the cache but I still get the problem.
Chrome > Ipad screen > when clicking on the menu it reloads the page and the drop down cannot be accessed.

Sorry to bother you again with that – I think I’m going to leave it as it is…

    Hi,

admin login you’ve provided is not working for me anymore. Can you check please?

    Best regards,

Yes, it’s because it was for another website.
    Access given as private content.

Has this issue been resolved? May I ask how you were able to resolve it?

I am having the same issues with the mobile menu dropdown not working for ANY mobile at all — http://screencast.com/t/8I3Mji09

    Hi,

it’s because you put a web adress into the menus in question: http://i.imgur.com/CatKRsa.png
    Check your WordPress menu.

Instead add a page into your menu which does not redirect to a specific web adress.

    Hi Andy,

I did not put a web address on the menu – I did add a custom link that has not web address as parent if that’s what you mean.

The main nav is using pages.

Please note that this menu is hidden now as the site is live and being reviewed. I still want to resolve the full width submenu issue — on why it isn’t working.

    Thanks,
    A

    Hi,

yes, so again: remove your custom link menu item and add a page menu item instead. This is common WordPress behavior, which doesn’t get controlled by the theme. For further information about this, please ask general WordPress support.

    Andy

    Hi Andy,
So I’ve removed the links from the parent menu items. It works (of course).
However, like in my first example, if the parent menu item is a page, it forces us to change it to a custom link with no target and link to the page as a dropdown item.
Some Enfold models such as “construction” are made this way and the drop down does not work with all tablets.
I think you can close the topic, the solution for now being that parent item of a dropdown menu should be a link with no target rather than a page or link if one want it to work on all devices.
    Best regards,
    — Jerome.
