Not sure how to troubleshoot this or if this is by design but when I go to portfolio items the menu is missing?

I am using a child theme but with a couple of filters added so I can sort post lists.
Just wanted to let you know I figured out the issue.
You cannot use the custom sort plugin on Portfolio items.
