I have a very simple menu anchor link that has suddenly stopped working once I made the site live. The only change I made was to activate “Yost SEO” earlier in the day, but I deactivated it and it made no difference. I also selected the page as the “frontpage.” It has something to do with that selection the Enfold Child prefs.
It seems to be a Safari issue—(I don’t have an iPhone of iPad to test it also.) It works on Mac with Chrome and Firefox no problem. It also woks on Windows in Explore, Chrome and Firefox. So, it’s a Safari issue—and possibly an iOS issue s well. However, I have done many sites with Enfold and have never had this problem before. See— http://www.blaircomm.us/w/bc1/, and http://www.blaircomm.us/ —both of which rely on anchor links.
The site is “www.swingcontrol.com” and the link is the “product information” under the “swing control” home menu item. The link is “http://swingcontrol.com/the-original/#g1/” which always worked perfectly, until I launched the site. This same link is in a down arrow (icon font) on the bottom of the home page, which now does not work either.
The only other difference is that this is on a new host, http://mediatemple.net, who has been great so far.
If you watch the address bar, the correct address shows, but is immediately redirected to the “home” ignoring the correct link destination. I don’t know why this is redirecting.
I find when I select another page as “frontpage” the arrow anchor link works, but the anchor link in the menu still does not work. Something is messed up with the link code behind the scenes where I can’t get at it—it is being redirected. I saw the post about adding the “www” and the server redirecting if that wasn’t included in the link, but I tried that and many other things to no avail.
I am just about to start a HUGE commerce site using Enfold and can’t imaging these one-page layouts without anchor links working—so I need to get a fix. This interim site is currently live and no matter what I do I cannot get this simple link to work again. Can you look at it and see if there is a fix? Or advise me how to redo it so it works?
Thanks.
