I’m planning a membership site where the paying members can see a published summary of each other. I have a couple o f questions

    1) I am planning a front page where, instead of the traditional menu, boxes (links) float in above a background. I am thinking that using for the portfolio format for this makes sense. I’m asking because I want to make the members details sortable, and so that might also be best achieved with the portfolio type. i would then be calling 10 or 12 portfolio items to the front page in place of the traditional menu and several of these individual portfolio items, when opened, would then call up fortfolio items of a particular category. Can I do that? Use a portfolio page to show the selection of other protfolio pages?. I could call up members’ details by another method

    2) Most membership plugins have the payment facility built in, whereas the theme already has WooCommerce built in. Is there a membership management that you’d recommend? Does it matter to have some of these payment files present in two different locations?

    3) I just upgraded to WP 3.7, and then uploaded S2 Member, which says that it’s compatible with WP 3.7. Have you had any compatibility issues with S2 Memeber? ends envisbecause I get a blank white screen when trying to go into the S2 configuration menus It could well be my hosting provider, IXWebhosting, who have had a lot of problems this last week and maybe things are still not quite right.

    thanks+
your team is the best, I’m glad to be working with another Kriesi theme.

    Hey KingConga!

    1) Not within an ajax view. Each item could link to another page where you have portfolio items inside of it however. You should do a quick test with a few items if you are unsure as the description may not match what I’m thinking.

    2) WooCommerce has a membership extension you could try since WooCommerce is already supported. I’ve never used it but its worth a look. Other than that no, we don’t have any official support for them.

    3) Make sure you have only that plugin, WordPress and 2.4.2 of the theme installed. Try it with another theme and see if you get the same issue. There could be a conflict but again we’ve not tested any membership plugins that I know of.

    Regards,
    Devin
