Tagged: mega menu
Hi there,
we have set up a mega-menu (without any plugin) and it worked nicely until some day without us not touching it (or at least not knowing it) completely blew up. Is there anything reported with a recent wordpress update or theme update? Since it bascially just came out of the blue.
Hey flippingrocks,
Not sure what’s going on there, could you try deactivating all plugins to see if one of them is causing a conflict please?
Best regards,
Rikard
Hi Rikard,
thanks for your help – I deactivated the plugins to see any conflict – could not find anything. I recreated the menu and hope for now that it is not going to crash on a regular basis, since I`m totally clueless why this happens.
Hi Rikard,
Yes, I could recreate it and I hope it will not crash again. The only thing which could have caused the havoc I can think of is that I used some links in the menu and specified the link address as “www.example.com/#” ( I had to use the link as a subtitle in the menu – therefore a real address was not needed) – not sure if wp likes the # as an URL in the mneu. But this is just bad guessing.
thanks
Hi!
Adding a hashtag as url is fine. It’s probably a max_input_vars issue. See here: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enfold-menu-item-limit/
Best regards,
Ismael
Hi Ismael,
thanks for your help -I´m not sure if is the number of menu-items – it hasn`t crashed ever since – I will start worrying again and try your settings if it crashes again – (hopefully not)
Hey!
Yes, that can happen based on menu items, I have seen it before.
Please do let us know if you need anything else, we will be more than happy to help.
Best regards,
Basilis
