Whenever trying to add an audio tag using mediaelement.js, I just get a big black box that covers the entire post area, with no option to play my file. I’m going to try using other plugins for the time being, but since this is a part of core in 3.6, I wanted to see if anyone else was having the same trouble?
I’m using version 1.7 of the theme.
Hi,
What do you mean by adding audio tag on mediaelement.js?
You can use these plugins:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-audio-player/
http://wordpress.org/plugins/haiku-minimalist-audio-player/
http://wordpress.org/plugins/html5-jquery-audio-player/

To use mediaelement.js, you insert media with shortcodes, such as [audio src="https://www.url.com/blah.mp3"] to embed your media. I’m using another plugin that seems to work at the moment, but mediaelement.js is going to be part of the wordpress core in version 3.6, so it’s definitely something you’ll want to address.
I should point out that I did flip to the 2011 theme and it worked fine, just so there’s not confusion on that.
Hey Atnevon,
It still hasn’t been fully integrated bug free to 3.6 core yet (looking through tickets just now) but when there is a stable beta out Kriesi will start working on bringing the theme up to date to work with it.
Until then however, it isn’t something that is officially supported so you could try using either Johns plugin that makes use of the script with shortcodes and things built in (if you aren’t already) or an alternative until 3.6 is released.
Regards,
Devin
