I am developing a site using the Parallax demo theme.
The problem page is https://smdp.co.uk/training-programmes (needs Windows hosts file edit as it’s a development build on my server – the second entry is just plain ‘www’ it somehow got converted to a link in the private content section, which it should not be)
Viewed on a PC there is a massive gap below the three column section and the grid row below (Sales Directors).
This gap appears to be a div, class=”container av-section-cont-open”
How can I remove it? or just fix the gap?- This topic was modified 1 year, 4 months ago by nestormakhno.

August 3, 2023 at 2:49 pm #1415338Hey,
Please edit the Color Section element on your page, go to Layout > Margin and Padding > Custom top and bottom margin, and set the bottom margin to zero (https://i.imgur.com/F9moWPM.png).
If that doesn’t help, please send us screenshots showing the changes you’d like to make.
Due to our policy, we only connect to the sites that are publicly accessible.
Best regards,
YigitAugust 3, 2023 at 6:54 pm #1415360Hi there – the bottom margin change made a *small* difference but changing it below -150px means that a hite area covered the section below. I suppose I could increase the Z-index of the section below but I would prefer to know what this area is (see attached picture) – this is what appears to be causing the problem. How can I get rid of that div
August 6, 2023 at 2:51 pm #1415646Hi,
I have added the IP to my host file but I can’t load your site, I get this error: Error establishing a database connection
I also get an error that your site uses an unsupported protocol ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH
Please try to resolve this so we can examine the elements, I can’t offer a solution based on a screenshot.
You could also try Enabling the Avia Layout Builder Debugger and copy the page to another install on a test site so we can see the page with the issue.Best regards,
MikeAugust 8, 2023 at 9:45 am #1415804Hi Mike,
Sorry about that – I guess it’s because the SSL has not been correctly generated yet. The site can be viewed here:
https://564bf5b009c54d527ba2645f0674f10e.p.myukcloud.com/training-programmes
and the back end can of course be viewed with /wp-admin but please do not edit the site using the preview URL as this tends to break the DB.If you could just let me know what action to take based on what you find, that’d be great.
The preview link lasts 24 hours so I will renew it tomorrow at the same time as posting this today.- This reply was modified 1 year, 4 months ago by nestormakhno.
August 8, 2023 at 6:04 pm #1415847Hi,
Thank you for the link to your site, but the login is not admin so I can’t see the backend of the page, I have compared your page to my parallax demo and see the section that you removed between the three columns in the #service color section and the grid column. The #service color section has a bottom margin of 80px to allow room for the element that you removed, so change this to a negative 80px or more if you want the sections tighter.
Changing the bottom margin to -80px will match the three column’s -80px top margin so the next element is where it should be.Best regards,
MikeAugust 14, 2023 at 1:20 pm #1416248Hi Mike – thanks for your attention to this – I have experimented with ramping the bottom margin of the section in question all the way down to -120px, after which some invisible section that is there covers over the section below.
Anyway, I expect the site will go live soon and then I can give you proper access to the back end to have a look. So let’s put a pin in this for now. Thanks.
