Hi.. not sure why you would remove HTML tgs from being seen from the excerpt field? I’d like to know? anyways, I googled this and tried to modify the line of php in the av-helper-masonry.php file, (as mentioned here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/html-markup-in-excerpt-has-been-lost/) but it broke things and did not solve the problem. Can you please let me know how I can resolve this?
Hey nulrick,
The HTML should NOT be rended there.
Not only for security issues, but also because if any HTML tag left open, it will brake all your layout.

im not understanding why there’s more of a security issue there compared to text elsewhere? this means the none of the text can be styled at all :( of course anytime there’s an open tag it can be problematic, but if that was the concern, then most other text component are subject to that potential issue.. wordpress allows for coding, as does mane of the enfold features..? Is there a modification?
Hi nulrick,
An excerpt is a short part of the content, it’s not supposed to be fancy, just a few lines of text, even WordPress does not provide a WYSIWYG filed for the excerpt, just a plain text field. If you need more than that you need to consider using a different element or making a customization in the template files.
Best regards,
