    Hello Team,
on our website andrea-soyez.com/ueber-mich we’ve embedded a masonry gallery with the activated Setting, that the pictures are open up in a Lightbox.
But it isn’t working anymore. If we click on the picture, it’ll open up in a new window.

    We’ve tried to…
…update the Theme, WordPress and PHP Version
…check out plugin and child theme conflicts
    …check the enfold options

    But nothing worked.
Can you give us a solution for this problem?

    Hey emilconsor,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

It seems to fade in initially to open the lightbox but then redirects to the actual image page. Have you installed a lazy loading or another gallery plugin? We may need to access the site in order to properly check the issue. Please provide the login details in the private field.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Thank you for the info.

Did you change the login URL? We can’t access the login page using the default login URL. Please provide the custom login URL in the private field.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

Many plugins on the site have not been updated, and there is an outdated copy of the theme in the themes folder. Please update the plugins and remove the older theme version to eliminate any compatibility issues. You should also update the theme to version 5.6.8 afterward.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hey Ismael,

all plugins and themes are up to date now, but the lightbox isn’t working.

Can you give us another solution?

    Best regards,
    Maurice

    have a look if you got a child-theme header.php.
This file in particular has undergone major changes over time. In this case, you should remember why you created a child theme header.php. You should then apply these steps to an up-to-date header.php and upload it instead.

    Hi,
Good tip Guenni007, I see emilconsor is using a custom header.php & footer.php, we do not recommend adding these files to your child theme, it is the most common reason for errors when updating. Please remove these files and any customizations you wish to make should be done in your child theme functions.php

    Best regards,
    Mike

Yes – but that is sometimes difficult to realize. A child-theme header.php or footer.php is often easier to manage.
You only need to check after updates if there are significant changes in their parent themes files. Therefore, changes should be well documented (possibly by comments inside).

    Hey,

Guenni’s point was definitely true. I’ve changed the footer.php to the new version, but forgot the header.php.
After updating the header.php, the lightbox worked again. The problem is fixed, thank u guys. :)

    Best regards,
    Maurice
