    Hi guys,

Could you sanity check something for me please?

I have used the Masonry Gallery on multiple pages, and used the Custom Link field to add an absolute url to another page on the website. I did this by clicking on the Masonry Gallery element on the page, clicked Add/Edit Gallery, and then added the absolute url to the Custom Link field for the individual image.

After my developer migrated the site to a new server, all these images now link back to the home page.

My developer says: ” I think what may have happened is the backup product I used (All-in-One WP Migration) updated the links before I had set the new domain name.”

Unfortunately, almost all of the absolute urls have been totally stripped from the Custom Link field (although occasionally one remains, using the old url).

My question is, if the migration was undertaken correctly, would you expect the urls in the Custom Link field to update as well? And if yes, do you have any idea why they might have been stripped out completely during migration? No problem if you don’t have an answer for that one, but I’m just curious.

    Hey!

Custom Link in gallery items is a meta data bound to the Media (post type attachment) in question, so maybe that plugin handles Media files differently.

    Best regards,

Thanks Josue – If I went back to my developer and recommended he re-migrate the site using WP Migrate DB (the Enfold recommended plugin), are you able to confirm that this would keep the absolute urls in the Custom Link field (and update them to the new domain name)?

I’m guessing yes, otherwise why would it be recommended, but I just know he’ll ask me :)

I’ve not tested it but i’d say yes.

    Regards,
    Josue
