I’m trying to setup a Masonry element that is showing Portfolio Items using the filtering functionality. Each Portfolio Item when clicked brings up a light box of that featured image with the previous and forward arrows to move to the next item. The problem that I’m facing, is that the filtering doesn’t seem to filter the lightbox images. For example: If there are 4 images setup in the Portfolio Items, labeled Dog 1, Dog 2, Cat 1, Cat 2. On page load, you see all 4 animals. When filtering Dogs, you see the 2 dogs and when you click on an image the lightbox appears and shows that animal with the previous and forward arrows which let users rotate through all 4 images, not just the 2 dogs. It’s important to have the lightbox only show the two images under the Dog category instead of the Dogs and Cats together. My client has a more complex gallery, but this example gets the point across. Am I missing a setting or is there a workaround solution?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hey jrowland,

Please check our demo overview here http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-overview/ and point us to the exact page where we can see this issue(close the iframe before sharing the link).

If it is not in the demo it might require some custom coding and we are happy to help you with it if it is something that won’t take much time. Would you mind providing a precise link, showing the elements in question? We need to be able to inspect them in order to help :)

    Best regards,
    Vinay

This solution doesn’t seem to be what I’m looking for. I don’t want the lightbox to only have a single image. I would like it to show everything in the section that’s selected (Either all Dogs or all Cats). I think most people would say intuitively that this is how it should work. In the example above, when “All” is selected, all four animals can be viewed in the lightbox (which is great), but when one of the items is selected and filtered, such as “Dog”, then the two dogs should be shown in the lightbox, but none of the cats should be shown.

The referenced link does talk about adding custom html to a codeblock but this is out of the question for my client who’s not very tech-savvy and has almost 200 images in five categories. Easy management is why we’re using this theme.

I can look for other solutions but I believe that the functionality here should work the way that I’m describing it. I can’t imaging that other developers are okay with a Portfolio Category being selected and then the lightbox shows images from other categories. If this is how it works and not something that I’m doing wrong, then I hope that you will consider changing / fixing this functionality in a future update.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

feel free to make a feature request for Kriesi here: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/

Basically this is how WordPress is working (so it’s not about the theme). I guess there are some plugins out there, with such a function you need.

    Best regards,
    Andy
