I’m trying to make a Masonry portfolio from Vimeo links that open in a lightbox. But when I click the image you see the lightbox for a split second and then it links to the Vimeo page.
This is how i set it up:
– I’ve added a Portfolio Item with a Video Media Element (for example url: https://vimeo.com/63186969)
– And then defined a custom link to the same external url
– Plus included a featured image
– I’ve added a Masonry Content Element on my PageBut when I click the Masonry Portfolio Item it shows the lightbox for a split second and then links to the Vimeo page.
How do I set this up correctly?December 12, 2014 at 6:26 pm #367392Hi Broelando!
are you using a short URL version? then it does not work. Please use the full Vimeo link.
Best regards,
AndyDecember 12, 2014 at 6:44 pm #367405I’m using full URL’s, at least I think… Like this one: https://vimeo.com/97206714

December 13, 2014 at 1:46 pm #367678I accidently discovered a sort of workaround, I’ve added a [ in front of the vimeo link ( like this: [https://vimeo.com/97206714 )
This is very strange but it seems to do the trick.December 15, 2014 at 1:44 am #368080Hi!
I tested the same vimeo video (https://vimeo.com/63186969) as a custom link on a portfolio item on my installation and it plays fine on a lightbox without redirecting to the actual vimeo page. I’m not sure if the workaround is actually helping. Can you please create a test page without the fix?

IsmaelDecember 15, 2014 at 9:07 am #368193Hey Ismael,
I’ve removed the workaround ( adding a [ ) for the first video ( http://vimeo.com/97205906 ). It still links to the vimeo site.
I’ve tried different browsers, Safari, Firefox, Chrome on a Mac. All latest versions and all start playing for a sec in the lightbox and then link to Vimeo. Oh and the playback of the lightbox video in Firefox is very choppy. But maybe that is just the browser…December 16, 2014 at 6:57 pm #369084If you still want to see the masonry video, I’ve created a test page with and without the workaround.
You can find it here: http://broelando.nl/masonry-test/December 17, 2014 at 4:04 am #369314Hi!
please deactivate all plugins to see if that helps. If not you can create us admin access so that we can have a deeper look into the issue.
Cheers!
AndyDecember 17, 2014 at 4:04 am #369315Hey!
I tested the portfolio links on the page (http://broelando.nl/masonry-test/) with the video lightbox and it plays find without redirecting. I’ll ask the rest of the support team to check.
Cheers!
IsmaelDecember 17, 2014 at 11:08 am #369388That is strange, I’ve tried it with 3 different browsers on a Mac with 10.10 also on the iPhone and iPad and all have the redirect…
It sometimes takes a second or two but it slill redirects…- This reply was modified 10 years ago by Broelando.
December 17, 2014 at 11:18 am #369391This reply has been marked as private.December 17, 2014 at 11:41 am #369399I disabled all plugins like you said and the redirecting went away. Then I enabled them one by one and discovered that it’s the ‘WP Slimstat’ plugin that does the redirecting. First I thought it was the ‘Hyper Cache’ plugin but when I emptied the cache it worked fine.
Do you have a suggestion for another webstats plugin? Because I would like to see the stats of the website.December 17, 2014 at 6:22 pm #369637Hey!
you can try to contact the plugin’s author for a fix.

AndyDecember 18, 2014 at 2:10 am #369837Hi!
I see you are now using ‘WP Statistics’, does the issue still occurs with that plugin?
Best regards,
JosueDecember 18, 2014 at 10:18 am #369887Hey Josue, no with that one it’s fine. Or do you suggest another plugin or another way to view statistics?
