    Hi,

How can I force the title and excerpt of a blog nicely below the thumbnails in masonry (so only the arrow up covers the image)?
Now it almost covers every part of the thumbnail, which looks pretty odd.

    Thank you

    Hey Spiv,

Could you provide us with a link to the site in question so that we can take a closer look please?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

see link. I don’t understand why the white box with text and title is covering the thumbnail on “always display” option.
It doesn’t make sense. How can I put it below the thumbnail, see we see the full thumbnail image?
I can’t figure out the css behind this.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

No, because for now I use the blog grid. Ideally I want to use masonry.
I think it is very clear what the problem is?
http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/blog/masonry-blog/ also has this. The white boxes are covering a big part of the thumbnails. In many occasions this is very disruptive to the images.
So how can I force them below the thumbnail instead of them covering the thumbnail.

    Thank you,

    S

    Hey!

Have you tried using the “No gap, Flexible masonry” option in the masonry element or a portfolio grid using “Portfolio grid size manual” and a custom size of “original height x width or masonry”?

Those two options will keep the aspect ratio of your images and display the title, date and excerpt below the images.

    Best regards,
    Dake

    Hi,
The portfolio is not an option, as I want to display the blog items. Using the no gap/flexible masonry I see the images are cropped.
I really do want this in the blog grid with masonry setting, as this displays the items exactly as I want, except for the title/excerpt covering thumbs ;)
    Thank you

    Hey!

That’s strange, the title and excerpt box should be below the image and the image merely keeps it’s aspect ratio.

May we have temporary access to your website so we can take a closer look?

    Hi,

As written before, this is standard behavior in enfold, as seen on
    http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/blog/masonry-blog/
As you can see the white boxes with title/excerpt cover the thumbnail, they are not positioned below.

    Hey!

That demo masonry blog page is using different settings. Positioning the title, excerpt and background below the full size image and having the other masonry entries wrap around it will require custom code that is out of the scope of support.

To achieve this you can enlist the aid of a freelancer here.

My previous post was referring to the flexible masonry setting as shown below where images are resized according to the column count, but maintain the aspect ratio (no cropping).
