    Hello,
    I would like to add a colored overlay effect to my masonry blog to make it easier to read the titles. I want the images to look normal when they are not being hovered.
    Here is a link to the page I am referring to. The white text is hard to read on some images, so I wanted to try a semi-transparent gray overlay to make it easier to read. http://reileyphotography.com.routing.wpmanagedhost.com/blog/

    Looks like I figured it out! Not sure what I did differently to make it work, but it’s exactly how I wanted it. Hooray!

    Hi,

    Edit the Masonry, under Masonry Content (tab) set:
    Image overlay effect -> Overlay Activated

    click Element Captions (tab) set:
    Element Title and Excerpt Styling -> Display as centered overlay (overlays the image)
    Element Title and Excerpt display settings -> Display on mouse hover
