    Hello.

The example page for this question as well as the password for that page are in the Private Content.

Question: When we place a Vimeo video as background in a color section, the video appears as it should when the browser view is at 100%. However, if the page visitor changes the browser view to less than 100%, the next color section contents creep up into the video color section. Try it at 100% and then at, perhaps, 80%, 75% or 50%, and you will see what the page visitor sees.

    How can we correct this?

    Thanks.

    Hey clbdcnpafe,
Sorry for the late reply, and thank you for the link, I tested this page in Chrome, Firefox, & Edge but I’m not seeing the next color section content creep up into the video color section when changing the browser size.
    Which browser are you using?

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. It is happening consistently, with us and our users. A whole variety of browsers, in different cities. Is there any way we can send screen shorts?

    Thanks,

    Cliff.

    Hi,
Please try using https://postimages.org/ and pasting the image URL in your post or in the Private Content area.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Thanks! Didn’t know about PostImage. Cool resource.

The PostImage link I’ve included in the Private Content is to a 3 image gallery – filenames show the browser view setting for each image. Was in Chrome; does the same in IE11 and Edge – we don’t have Firefox.

I’ve also included a temporary Administrator Username & Password and a link to the page in question if you want to look at the web page structure. The same problem occurs with all of the other pages on our site that have videos as backgrounds in the first color section.

Notes about the page in question:
The first color section, “Headertext-LS”, has the video as background.
The second and third color sections, “Header-SSC” and Headertext-SSC”, are for mobile devices
The fourth color section, “spacer1”, is where we are trying, so far unsuccessfully, to put a set distance between the header (1st color section) and the color section (“whatshere” and everything else after it) that comes below the spacer for non-mobile screens.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Cliff

    Hi,
I think I may have found your issue, but I would like to ask when you are testing for browser responsiveness are you changing the browser “zoom” or scale?
I would submit that this is not giving you accurate results because the video is not zoomable so it retains it’s full size while the rest of the page gets smaller.
To test for responsiveness please try using the “Developers Tools” (F12) on Windows and use the “Mobile Viewport” please see figures 3, 4, & 6 at the link. (The link is for Chrome but Edge & Firefox also have the same settings)
Mobile devices change by pixel width and not by scale (zoom), I hope this makes sense.

    Best regards,
    Mike
