I had a malware infection on my site (including the index.php file). The problem has been fixed. Now, all the pages are visible online. However, on the back end, I can’t edit anything anymore and, if I add a new page and click on “Advanced Layout”, nothing happens. I have no idea what the problem is or how to make Enfold respond the way it used to.
January 25, 2018 at 6:13 am #902583Hey nanook,
Have you tried uploading a new copy of WordPress & Enfold to overwrite your old files?
Also please ensure your webhost has PHP version 7 installed, some people with version < 5.5 are experiencing similar issues. If both are true there is a good chance your database has been damaged, even though the infected files have been removed. Perhaps try creating a localhost clean install of WordPress & Enfold and export your database via phpmyadmin in your webhost cPanel to your localhost to see if the issue persists. Best regards, MikeJanuary 25, 2018 at 6:57 am #902640Thank you very much, Mike. I checked and I see that my host’s PHP version is 5.6.32. Is that a problem?
Also, I’m not clear as to how to upload a new copy of Enfold.January 25, 2018 at 7:12 am #902655Hi,
v5.6.32 is the minimum, but WordPress recommends v7
Try to update manually via FTP: https://vimeo.com/67209750Best regards,
MikeJanuary 25, 2018 at 5:58 pm #902928Hi Mike,
I re-installed the latest WordPress and, today, just installed the latest Enfold update – and it all works fine now. Yay! Thanks.
January 25, 2018 at 7:54 pm #903003Follow-up question / problem. I have access to everything on my home computer but can’t see my Enfold advanced layouts or a few other things on my work computer. So I can’t edit. Is there something my computers needs updated to view or edit Enfold properly?
January 25, 2018 at 8:40 pm #903019Hi,
There should not be, wordpress and enfold should work in any browser.
Does your work browser allow java? or are you behind a firewall? If the diffence is visable, can you include a screenshot from your work browser?Best regards,
MikeJanuary 25, 2018 at 9:33 pm #903041Sorry. Stupid and simple problem. I had to delete the cache on my work computer. All good now!
