    Hi,
    I’d like to add a full width MailChimp signup form to the footer area so it appears globally on my site.
    The footer currently has four columns and I’d like the MailChiomp to sit above this, either within the footer area or just within it’s container but for it to appear on every page/post.
    Can you help?

    Hey agilecic,

    Yes, you would need to use a child theme: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/ and copy footer.php from the parent theme to the child theme and put the shortcode inside it.

    Where in the footer.php and what shortcode?

    Is it possible to add a widget area in the footer.php that can be used from the Widget section in the backend?

    Hi,

    Widgets area lready there, you can check them from Appearance -> Widgets.
    Footer has already widgets there.
