It looks like Maintenance mode is not working no more on the last enfold update 4.5.2.
People can see the website also without login.December 20, 2018 at 2:12 pm #1047718Hi,
I just tested on my local installation and it seems to work fine.
Visitors who are not logged in should be redirected to the page you choose in Enfold theme options. Have you tried checking in incognito mode?Best regards,
YigitDecember 20, 2018 at 4:06 pm #1047770Hi @Yigit
This is happening only on one website using Enfold. WordPress is 5.0.2 and Enfold is 4.5.2.
Until these lasts recent updates the “offline” page worked perfectly.I usually test this with another browser i have on the same computer, so i’m not logged in.
You can test by yourself I link the website in the private section(also if you notice, the title of the Home page remain “Offline” that is the name of the maintenance page i choose, and there are several CSS error that disappears when I deactivate the maintenance mode, and i refresh the home page.)
December 21, 2018 at 1:26 pm #1048166I have the same problem and need a quick fix
December 25, 2018 at 11:04 pm #1049042Hi,
We appreciate the understanding.
Our developers are working hard to get the issue solved as soon as possible.Best regards,
BasilisJanuary 2, 2019 at 9:54 pm #1049383Hi there
I have the exact same issue (WP 5.0.2 & Enfold 4.5.2) – glad I found this existing thread.
Installed WP Maintenance Mode as a workaround, but I am excited for an Enfold update to fix this issue properly. Thanks a lot
MichaelJanuary 4, 2019 at 5:11 am #1049788Hi,
@markmade: It is redirecting to the “Offline” page. Is that your maintenance mode page? We can’t check it because the login token has expired.Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 4, 2019 at 11:13 am #1049943Hi, i renewed the login link to more three days.
Offline is my maintenance page.January 4, 2019 at 10:35 pm #1050109Hi Ismael
You can check it easily by changing the page which should be used as a Maintenance page in the Enfold options.
For me it always takes the home page and if I want to change it, nothing happens. As already mentioned by others, this worked perfectly with Enfold 4.5.1 but seems to be a little issue in 4.5.2.
Cheers
MichaelJanuary 7, 2019 at 1:39 pm #1050870Hi,
The site redirects to the maintenance mode page whenever the option is enabled on my own installation, so a plugin is probably causing your sites not to redirect to the maintenance mode page. Please deactivate the plugins temporarily.
Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 7, 2019 at 4:51 pm #1050944Ismael, this is working on some websites and not on others, also everything was perfectly working before the last update.
January 9, 2019 at 11:37 am #1051733Hi,
Ismael, this is working on some websites and not on others
The more reason to check if it’s a plugin conflict. Are the sites running the same plugins?
Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 9, 2019 at 12:44 pm #1051789I deactivated all the plugin and the maintenance mode worked.
Then i activated plugins one to one and refresh the page on another browser and I found the problem:Yoast SEO version 9.4
activating the plugin the maintenance page does not work again. Disabling it the offline work again.
This plugin is installed on every website anyway and it’s a pretty common plugin, also it was installed and activated before this problem appears.Hope this can help to find what’s the problem, now i can deactivate it and proceed to complete the website, then open the website and activate the plugin but it’s strange…
Hope this helps.
January 11, 2019 at 11:53 am #1052708Hi,
Thanks for the info. How does the maintenance mode work for other sites if the plugin is installed on all of them? The issue is probably cause by combination of the plugins. Have you check that?
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 13, 2019 at 6:37 pm #1066585Hi,
i have only Yoast 9.6 & woocommerce 3.5.4 on my website (WordPress 5.0.3)(Enfold 4.5.3 )I confirm that Yoast broke maintenance mode.
Thanks to help.
Best regards.
February 14, 2019 at 2:16 am #1066725Same problem on another website.
Also custom 404 doesn’t work, I guess that yoast someway intercept the 301 redirect and break it
February 17, 2019 at 2:12 pm #1067896Hi,
Did you already update to 4.5.4?
There had been some improvements.
If the problem is not solved in the latest version – can we have an admin account to check your settings with YOAST – because I have no problems on my dev server.
Best regards,
GünterFebruary 18, 2019 at 6:58 am #1068145Hi Günter
Just tested it again with Enfold 4.5.4 – works like a charm.
Nice little improvement as well for the maintenance mode, very nice!Cheers

VictoriaFebruary 18, 2019 at 11:45 am #1068280I had a same issue last week and I think that it was solved by upgraden the PHP version. Not 100% sure about that because a lot was going on on that moment.

VictoriaFebruary 20, 2019 at 10:52 am #1069378Hi, I can’t see the changelog of the 4.5.4.
Anyway, NOW it’s working, thank you. Also i see that if you use the “show the page without redirect” the correct status code gave to the browser is 404, and not 302.
As the link doesn’t exist no more, it should be better to give to the browser and crawlers the 404 code instead of the 302.Marco
