    Hi

I have a site in development: http://silviafindings.wpengine.com/ (hosted on WPengine) for which you will need credentials to view it and which I have added to the private area below.

    1) When I hover over the first main menu item, About, I see a line at the very bottom of the last menu option. See screenshot here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nmm178zjxx6s1cf/line%20issue%20in%20mega%20menu.jpg?dl=0

    2) Under the main menu, “Other Findings” mega menu, the first sub-menu item has more sub-sub-menu items that do not display. The items are the sub-categories of the category “Charms”. Why are these not displaying.

I would appreciate help in resolving these issues.

    Thanks
    Lyse

    Hey Lyse,

1- Please try adding this code to the Quick CSS section under Enfold > General Styling or to your child themes style.css file:

    #top .av-main-nav ul a {
        border: none;
    }

2- Please refer to this post – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enfold-menu-item-limit/

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hi Yigit,

    #1 worked perfectly!
#2 I have an opened ticket with WP Engine as this is not working.

Will let you know the results soon.

    Thanks,
    Lyse

    Hi,

Ok great, let us know if you should need any further help from us :-)

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,

Here’s the response I got from WP Engine support team:
“Thanks for your patience as this was looked into! I was able to see within staging after utilizing a default theme.

Digging a bit deeper into that issue on the theme’s support forms https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-the-drop-down-menu-and-the-mega-menu-do-not-show-all-the-pages/ I see this is a frequent issue with the mega menu settings, or the set css for this drop down area.

Since we are able to see that the max variables on the server are in fact working correctly with other themes and set correctly, I highly recommend reaching out to your theme’s support team to continue trouble shooting as the issue is specific with that theme. They should have further instructions about the needed settings/configuration or the needed css edits to have this function correctly.”

I still that the issue that my items don’t all display.

    Thanks
    Lyse

    Hi,

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    Login credentials include:

    • The URL to the login screen.
    • A valid username (with full administration capabilities).
    • As well as a password for that username.
    • permission to deactivate plugins if necessary.

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hi Yigit,

I have added the login credentials in the private area.

You have my permission to deactivate all plugins if necessary.

    Thanks

    Hi,

does this mean your host is not able to make these changes mentioned here?

As mentioned in our documentation you would have this issue with other WordPress themes as well. “The limit is not imposed by Enfold or WordPress”

If your host can’t help you, hopefully you can do it by yourself.

    Best regards,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

This is the only website where the mega menus contain long lists of items to display.

I asked WP Engine to make the change in the php.ini file (which I don’t have access to!) Hopefully this will work.

    Thanks
    Lyse

    #697580

    Hi Andy,

WP Engine support team confirm that by having set the “max_input_vars” within .htaccess it has updated the php.ini file setting. See screenshot here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b1nosciqu0zpo9i/phpinfo_2016-10-10_17-22-05.jpg?dl=0

Any other recommendations on how to get this to work?

    Thanks
    Lyse

    Hi,

if this does not work for you, then check out this: http://sevenspark.com/docs/ubermenu-menu-item-limit

Keep in mind that this issue is not caused by the theme, so we can’t do much about it. You would have it with any other theme or plugin as well. You really need to get correct server settings. Unfortunately that’s nothing we can really help you with. We can just point you to the right direction (providing you links, etc.).

You can try is with another WordPress theme, to confirm this of course.

    Best regards,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Since I can make anything work, I’ve decided to breakout and layout my mega menus differently.

Thanks for all of your help and patience.
