    Hi Enfold Team,
    for one of our customers we have contact form with a few more fields than usual. No idea if that’s important. The form on the website is fine, but the generated mail has always the same error. The Problem is not only the input by the user, but also the label. There is a “= ” between the letters. I don’t know where it came from and can’t figure it out. Here is a snippet from the mail:

    Stando= rt: Münster
    Gewünschtes Modell: A-Klasse
    Gewünscht= es Datum: 13 / 09 / 2018
    Jahrgang: 1= 967

    Has to look like:
    Standort: Münster
    Gewünschtes Modell: A-Klasse
    Gewünschtes Datum: 13 / 09 / 2018
    Jahrgang: 1967

    I deleted the field and created it again. No change. There are no special letters or anything else. It’s the first time I got this error. WordPress has the version 4.9.8 and Enfold has 4.4.1.

    Best regards
    Benjamin

    Hey talau,

    Thank you for using Enfold.

    Did you add any modifications to the functions.php file that is related to the contact form? Please enable the Appearance > Editor panel so that we can check the files.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

    The editor is now enabled.

    Indeed there was a modification in the functions.php (include class-form-generator.php). Must be from a workmate who is on vacation and doesn’t tell me that there is modification. I don’t know what he tried to do. I commented the line out and the mail looks much better now but not perfect. Instead of “= ” there is empty space sometimes in the words.

    Gew ünschtes Modell: A-Klasse
    Gewünschtes Datum: 05.10.2018, M ünster
    Akt uelles Modell: dfg

    I can’t find any other modifications related to the contact form.

    Beste regards,
    Benjamin

    Hi,

    The email looks alright. Which words are you referring to?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,
    I marked the wrong blank with an underscore. Mostly it is a label or a select option. It’s always one word.

    Hi,

    I was not able to reproduce the issue. I created a test page (see link private content) with the same form which sends the e-mail to a byom.de-Address without any errors.

    I’d recommend to check if it’s an encoding issue with the mail client. Another reason could be syntax errors in your html code – try to use the contact form on the test page and check if it works on your end too. If yes the probefahrt page contains elements which break the contact form code.

    Best regards,
    Peter
