I am in the process of upgrading a client’s neglected website from a much earlier version of Enfold to the newest version.

The export/import process was messy and didn’t fully work, so I have spent a great deal of time fixing things up to their former glory. This has worked well, except for one last element which I can not make work. That is…

    The page background images.

I can see where these are located in both the old version of Enfold and in the new version. However, the new version does not seem to have settings for size or position.

If I edit the shortcode itself, the image simply disappears.

Here is a visual of the old version, just to be clear about what is happening:

    Old version, working

The blue abstract image is what we are looking at.

The best I can do, using the color section’s background editing settings is this:

    New version, bad

Note the small and mis-positioned image at top centre.

(Note that the main landing page is intended to have one background image and all the other pages to have a different one.)

Is this a common complaint? I could not find anything using the forum search tools.

    Seeking your best advice.

    Hey Parapluie-Communications,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

You can apply the blue background to the color section directly, then add the hero image using the Image element inside the color section. You can then pull the image downwards with custom css or by placing it inside a column with a negative bottom margin. You may need to set a maximum height to the color section as well to get the image ioverflow effect.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi, Ismael.

You can apply the blue background to the color section directly, then add the hero image using the Image element inside the color section.

Excellent — exactly as I had it. It’s good to know I was on the right track.

You can then pull the image downwards with custom css…

I have done some experiment with custom css, but they have not been satisfactory.

Can you please confirm the class/id handle I should target?

    Thanking you.

Well! Hang fire on that previous question — I seem to have found the fix.
(Though it would be interesting to know the id to target… especially since I am targeting multiple page layouts).

There is a drop-down selection that only appears on the image attachment page, and only when selecting the background image. What I missed seeing was:

    “ATTACHMENT DISPLAY SETTINGS”

This was defaulting to the absurdly small image option, instead of a “cover” value.

In the case of this website, changing that value to “Full size” seems to have fixed everything nicely.

Thanks again for returning my focus to this page and settings.

    Cheers!
