Hi guys,
When I open my staging site with your demo content in Chrome, Android phone, the logo looks blown up and stretched and the mobile menu is on top of it. Because I have the custom pixel value of the header set to 100px, it also cuts it off at the bottom.
I also have some Quick CSS for aligning my logo in normal and shrink view, but when I removed it, it did’nt do anything. And I would like to keep all the settings/alignment.
How do I fix this?
Quick CSS code for aligning my logo in normal and shrink view:
.logo img { margin-top: -10px; }
.logo a img {
vertical-align: middle;
display: inline-block;
}Can you help me?
Sincerely,
MortickaJune 12, 2014 at 6:41 pm #278166Hey!
Try adding this code to the Quick CSS:
@media only screen and (max-width: 480px) { .responsive .logo a, .responsive .logo img{ max-height: none !important; height: 50px !important; } }
Cheers!
JosueJune 13, 2014 at 12:12 am #278386Hey Josue,
Thx for the fast response!!
Your code takes care of the distortion of the logo and the mobile menu is now on the right of the logo, so far so good.
However…half the logo is cut off at the bottom.
Do you also have a fix for that?
Sincerely,
MortickaJune 13, 2014 at 2:26 am #278428Hey Morticka!
Try with this code instead:
@media only screen and (max-width: 480px) { .responsive .logo a{ height: 100px !important; } .responsive .logo img{ height: 50px !important; } }

JosueJune 17, 2014 at 3:06 pm #280027Hi Josue,
Again, thx for your superfast AND helpful response!! The logo looks fine now, very happy with that. :D
I have two more questions though:
1: How can I style the logo in responsive mode? I would like the logo on the left, it’s center aligned with the center of the menu icon and the menu icon has to move a little to the right. It seems that the entire width in responsive mode has to expand. If you look at 99u.com in responsive mode, that’s the effect I’m trying to obtain. A simple header and using more mobile screen width for content.
The past couple of days I’ve been experimenting with different header choices, trying to solve the problem myself, but I’m at my wits end :)
2: I would like the secondary menu not show up in responsive mode, but in the menu icon list. Do you know how to accomplish this?
Sincerely,
MortickaJune 18, 2014 at 11:40 pm #280859Hi Morticka!
1. Add this to the Quick CSS:
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { .responsive .container{ width: 350px !important; } }
2. Duplicate those menu items on the main menu and set them a class of noDesktop, then add this to the Quick CSS:
@media only screen and (min-width: 767px) { .noDesktop{ display: none !important; } }
Cheers!
JosueJune 25, 2014 at 5:04 pm #283669Hi Josue,
Thx again for helping. The width in responsive view is perfect!
About adding another class: I know how to do this in html, but in php files, not so much. :)Question 1: Where do I find the menu items, in which document do I paste the duplicate and do I add another class?
I am using a child theme.
Question 2: And actually I would like the entire top (secondary) menu gone in responsive view, including the social media buttons (with the links in the menu button in responsive view ofcourse)
Question 3: And is there a way to align the logo in responsive view with the menu button? Right now it’s bottom aligned, but I’d like it to be center aligned?
Sincerely,
MortickaJune 26, 2014 at 11:40 pm #284342Hi!
1. You can duplicate those menu items in the Menu manager and you can set the class there too: http://screencast.com/t/tdgpdYvJ
2-3. Add this to the Quick CSS;
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { div#header_meta { display: none; } .logo img { top: -5px; } }
Cheers!
JosueJune 28, 2014 at 12:00 pm #284831BRILLIANT!! You are brilliant Josue, the menu works as I envisioned it, thank you so very much!!!! :D

I forgot to test the landscape mode on mobile!
The logo in landscape mode is blown up and blurry, the column width is to small and the menu icon floats on top of the logo.
Do you have a fix for that too, so it looks the same as it does in portrait mode, or maybe the way it looks on a tablet if there is enough space? :D

July 8, 2014 at 10:39 am #288390Hi Morticka!
Please add following code to Quick CSS as well
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { .responsive .logo a, .responsive .logo img { height: auto !important; }}
Best regards,
YigitJuly 8, 2014 at 12:24 pm #288448Thx Yigit! The logo and menu icon are okay again :D
But the content is not responsive, it’s still the same width as in portrait mode? How can I fix that?

July 8, 2014 at 2:06 pm #288513Hi!
Glad the logo is fixed.
I’m not sure if I’m following the thread correctly but the content looks fine on portrait and landscape view. Can you please provide a screenshot? You can use imgur, dropbox, clipular etc.
Cheers!

You have following custom CSS code added
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { .responsive .container { width: 350px !important; }}
Please change it to following
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) and (min-width: 480px) { .responsive .container { width: 80%; }}
Regards,
YigitJuly 8, 2014 at 8:03 pm #288660Hi Yigit,
Nice, it looks a lot better in landscape view, but in portrait view the width is now smaller. How do I turn the portrait view back to the width before these last changes?
Sincerely,
MortickaJuly 9, 2014 at 1:46 am #288728Hey!
Please change the code to following one
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) and (min-width: 500px) { .responsive .container { width: 80%; }}
Cheers!
YigitJuly 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm #289435Hi Yigit,
I tested the code, but the width in portrait mode did not change.
I tried this:
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
.responsive .container {
width: 90%;
}}It looks okay in portrait mode now, but ofcourse now it also stretches in landscape mode. I think I’ll leave it like this for now.
The logo still looks blurry, especially in landscape mode. Any idea how I can make it to look crisp like the text?
Sincerely,
MortickaJuly 10, 2014 at 1:04 pm #289437Hi Morticka!
Your logo itself is a bit blurry. Please edit your logo image and then upload again with higher resolution
Cheers!
YigitJuly 10, 2014 at 3:19 pm #289541Hi Yigit,
I uploaded the logo again with a resolution of 300ppi and it still looks blurry in landscape mode on the smartphone!
Do you have any idea why it that is?
Sincerely,
MortickaJuly 11, 2014 at 4:03 pm #290147Hi!
Can you try re-uploading your logo in 472x100px and check if that helps?
Best regards,
YigitJuly 18, 2014 at 1:43 pm #292951Hi Yigit,
With a resolution of 300ppi it was already to big and it does not look right in the overall design on desktop, so I scaled it in Illustrator, still in 300ppi resolution and uploaded it in wordpress. It looks better on the desktop, but still blurry, as well as on mobile.
I have two test sites running on different servers and I have the same effect on both. I have absolutely no clue what causes it?
Sincerely,
MortickaJuly 21, 2014 at 1:59 pm #293839Hey!
Do you have a mobile device with retina display? Just to check, can you try uploading this logo – http://i.imgur.com/6GJNpVi.png
Regards,
YigitJuly 27, 2014 at 7:41 am #296377Hi Yigit,
No, I don’t have a retina device :) Have not started testing on those yet.
Your logo does look better though. I’ve looked at the resolution and it’s a lot higher then my logo, which is to my surprise the standard web 72 ppi. I obviously keep making the same mistake; editting the logo in 300 ppi and then saving it in 72 ppi!! So I’m havng a little “duh” moment right now ;)
So, this time I saved my logo in 300ppi, uploaded it as logo and then downloaded the image again to see if WordPress made any changes to the resolution…and it still looks blurry compared to the crisp text. (I work with photoshop and illustrator)
I would not know what else to do.
Sincerely,
MortickaJuly 28, 2014 at 11:44 am #296669Hey!
here you have mentioned that doubling the size of the logo helped on desktop. Pinterest logo i posted looks fine on my local installation :)
Regards,
YigitJuly 28, 2014 at 11:49 am #296673Hi Yigit,
Correct, that’s what I said. Your Pinterest logo has a resolution of 149 something, my logo has a resolution of 299 now. If you check the website you see it’s still blurry.
Sincerely,
MortickaJuly 28, 2014 at 12:00 pm #296675Hey!
Can you upload your logo on imgur.com or Dropbox public folder and post it here? I still see that size is 236x62px
Best regards,
YigitJuly 28, 2014 at 12:48 pm #296715This reply has been marked as private.July 28, 2014 at 12:52 pm #296717Hey!
Please add following code to Quick CSS in Enfold theme options under General Styling tab
.logo img { padding: 20px 0; } .header-scrolled .logo img { padding: 0; }
Now your logo looks very sharp on my end and with using the code i posted above, you can decrease the height of it :)

Yigit -
