LOVE this theme. I’m developing it for the first time on a localhost (computer), and the theme options menu isn’t showing. I see the general options for front page, blog, logo, etc, but I don’t see the sidebar menu. Tried the “show options” toggle. I believe it’s a permissions issue, but I’m not sure which enfold subfolder needs to be changed. (Changed all top levels up to the main Enfold folder to 777.)
Thanks!
September 4, 2014 at 9:02 pm #313588In fact, the buttons to save on the options page and the advanced editor aren’t showing. Perhaps I just need to change all permissions? Shucks.
September 4, 2014 at 9:08 pm #313592Ok, I updated the permissions to all the top level files and folders in Enfold as well as the child theme (from style.css to includes folder) to no avail. I’ve never had to change permissions to EVERY file in the parent theme, so I’m a little stumped. Thanks!
September 4, 2014 at 11:07 pm #313639Hi!
Sounds like an error in the local server config. Without seeing it live I couldn’t even guess on what might be causing an issue but by itself the theme shouldn’t have any problems with child themes.
Cheers!
DevinSeptember 5, 2014 at 5:27 pm #314129The parent theme does the same thing. :(
September 5, 2014 at 7:47 pm #314180Hi
I am having the same error and believe it is related to the Wp upgrade to 4.0 since it did not exist before… :-(
I am running a child version of the themealso I cannot save Google Analytics Tracking Code in this panel, it is not remembered..
also Advanced Layout Editor is brokendefinitely seems 4.0 has made a mess – ..apart from that it is the most wonderful theme and such a pleasure to work with… thanks for it :-)
Regards
DesSeptember 5, 2014 at 9:34 pm #314206Hi!
1) Please make sure you’re using the latest theme version 2.9.2. Ig not please update the theme.
2) Maybe a plugin is incompatible with WordPress 4.0. Deactivate all plugins, clear the browser cache and try to use the widget areas again.
Cheers!
PeterSeptember 5, 2014 at 9:38 pm #314207I actually haven’t added any plugins except for bbpress as requested by the theme – I can’t do anything on the theme as the buttons don’t work and the side panel isn’t visible.
I downloaded the theme two weeks ago. Has it changed since then?
September 5, 2014 at 9:46 pm #314210Hi!
Yes, afaik Kriesi released an update for WP4.0. If the update doesn’t solve the issue try to increase the allocated php memory to 128M: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/fix-wordpress-memory-exhausted-error-increase-php-memory/
Cheers!
PeterSeptember 7, 2014 at 2:27 am #314657I am having the same problem with the layout editor, but cannot figure out how to update Enfold. I am running 2.9.1, and when I try to install 2.9.2 through WordPress, it says “Destination folder already exists. /home/fortxdia/public_html/www.onetonestudio.com/wp-content/themes/enfold/
Theme install failed.”
Is there any way to get around this? Also when I update by uploading the .zip file, will my website still be saved, or will it install the basic theme with none of my website info?
September 7, 2014 at 4:38 am #314669See: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
If you want to be able to update with the zip from within WordPress you need to change your servers permissions on the themes folder to let it write over the old file.
Otherwise you can update over FTP by following the steps in the video in the link above from our online docs.
