we would like to have a “load more” button below the related posts on a blog post. Is this possible?

Thank you for the inquiry.
This is possible but it will require modifications that is beyond the scope of support. You can try to use a plugin such as the following.

More plugin options in the following link.
// https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/ajax+load/
You can also modify the includes > related-posts.php template directly.
