Hi,
I tried to follow https://kriesi.at/support/topic/loading-google-fonts-locally-for-gdpr-compliance/ but still failing to load google font open sans localy.
Steps:
– downloaded google font open sans from: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Open+Sans?query=open+sans
– https://www.fontsquirrel.com/tools/webfont-generator throws error that it can’t convert ttf, so downlaoded woff2 files from https://gwfh.mranftl.com/fonts/open-sans?subsets=latin
– created a zip file, uploaded it via Import/export and see the following fonts uploaded:Schriftart: MACOSX ( font-family: macosx )
normal: 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800
italic: 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800Schriftart: Open Sans Flex ( font-family: open-sans-flex )
normal: 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800
italic: 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800– select the uploaded font in Allgemeines Syling, Schriften, Body
But still I see that the open sans font is downloaded from google.
What steps am I missing here?
Please advice

Thank you for the link to your site, I see that your Exo font at Enfold Theme Options ▸ General Styling ▸ Fonts ▸ Heading Font is a Google Font:
when I check your site this is the font I see called from Google, I don’t see Open Sans called:
Please change this font to a local font.Best regards,
MikeAugust 26, 2023 at 11:39 pm #1417213Hi Mike,
thanks, I missed that font and changed it.
But still I’m seeing fonts downloaded from fonts.gstatic.com and I’m not sure where they are coming from.
As you probably know using google fonts in Germany will cost you between 800 and 2.000 Euros if detected by one of the many lawyers specialist in “user protection” – and as long as I can’t figure out why there’s a call to google I can’t put the site online.
any ideas how to check what is causing the downloads from goole?

Thanks a lot,

I think it’s from the iframe on your homepage, try removing this and checking again. Often plugins will also load fonts so if you are still seeing this try disabling your plugins to see if this helps.Best regards,

thanks, it turned out that one font was still being used without the local downloaded version from Theme Options -> Advanced Styling.
Thanks,
