linking woocommerce category

Hi there,
My situation is as follows:
I have woocommerce installed in a store that is on a subdomain.
All the products are categorized (we sell art and every artist’s name forms a category)
On the main site (Art Gallery) I want to show the category (artist) at the artist portfolio, so visitors can see what’s in store (on the subdomain) from this artist. (in hope i make sense..)

Question: can shortcodes communicatie between subdomain and main domain? If not how can I achieve what I just described?
