Hi,
I’m sure that this must have been requested before, but I’m having difficulty finding the right code to use ( with certainty, anyway, as I’m New Here! )
I’ve a large Portfolio of items ( Cakes ) for which the Masonry Content Element is ideal – as the images vary in size and cannot be cropped.
But I’d like simply to display a large Lightbox image when an item is clicked rather than be directed to the items Post
Can I do this ?
What code do I need to add ?
Mike
February 12, 2020 at 4:05 am #1183734Hey MikepFive5,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Have you tried using the Masonry Gallery instead of the Masonry element for posts? The gallery items are automatically set to open the large version of the image in a modal popup window or lightbox.
Best regards,

Thanks
sorry that I’ve not got back to you sooner ( notification of your response passed me by in a rain of other emails )
Put simply, Masonry gallery requires individual selection of images, rather than being able to exploit the Category classification and structure associated with portfolio posts – which is a much more reliable method to both set up, manage and maintain!
My client has a large, and growing, number of Cake images and categories. Managing these on a page by page basis would be tedious and less reliable.
[ I’m sure I’ve seen posts about this in your support forum – but find it difficult to re-locate items previously read ]

Thank you for the update.
You might be able to use the avf_masonry_loop_prepare filter to replace the default value of the url with the thumbnail image in the post loop.
Example:
