I was hoping to have a link to a slide here – http://www.bernercompany.com/goodies/ – is there a #slide-1 or something that I could place the url that would link to that specific slide?

For content slider that is not possible out of the box. However, if you do not mind using tabs or accordion element, you can use links. For custom URL’s please see – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/custom-tab-and-toggle-ids-for-prettier-url-hashes/
