    Hi there,

    Am trying to get a link post format to have the title link to an external on an a new window instead of having to view the post and then only clicking on the title again to get the URL.
    I know this has been covered before, based on this post – https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-magazine-post-with-link-format-does-run/
    I tried looking for the code in magazine.php to replace but I couldn’t locate the it on line 529.

    I am also using a child theme, is there another way for me to add this code in to the child theme without modifying the parent theme?

    Hey janicenisha,
    The post is from 2015 and the changes in post: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-magazine-post-with-link-format-does-run/#post-435156 are already in the file. So I wonder if you just need to add the function to functions.php, I don’t think it will work though due to it’s age.
    I’m still not sure what you are trying to do, can you explain?

    Hi Mike,

    I am trying to get a post format with a Link in a magazine element, have the title itself linked to the external URL set in the post instead of You need to click the title on the magazine element and then click again on the title in the post with no content (only the title) to finally go to the link.

    Am also using a chile theme, so hoping if there are functions to be changed I can put them in the child theme, thanks.

    Hi janicenisha,

    Too many clicks for the user to get where you need him or her to go. You should eliminate that extra click.

    Hi Victoria,

    Thanks, my question is how do I do this? Am trying to get the user to get to the designated URL by just clicking on the title. I need the link to be opened on a new tab. Currently it doesn’t, theres an extra step I want to eliminate. Could you advise how do I go about it? Am using a child theme.

    I would like the post titles to open the URL directly instead of going to the post first then needing to click on the titles again. Can you kindly assist?

    Hi,
    I see your post formats are “link”, so if you add a link at the top of your page in the default editor like this:

    <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/page-links-to/">Lorem ipsum</a>

    the post title and Featured Image will link to that url.
    Or you could try this plugin which offers more options: Page Links To
