i just updated my site to 2.9 . But it appears that the lightbox is now not working on any of the posts. Is there a fix for this please. Or I want to revert back to 2.8 . Same problem with me. Specifically the Masonry Gallery offers the option of a Lightbox link but renders the image on a new page – totally exposed to theft. I disabled the lightbox for my clients’ image security. http://www.grandcentralstainedglass.com/fine-art-printmaking-2/

2.9 updated to a new lightbox script so it may just be a case of needing to force refresh your browser to use the new script. You certainly can still use prettyPhoto via a plugin but it shouldn’t be needed.
As for image security, if your images are online they can be (and are) downloaded. Going directly to the image or not has no effect on that. If you can re-enable the lightbox we can take a look live.

Everything seems OK now. And you’re right, I know the images aren’t safe but I thought the right-click >copy function was disabled in the previous lightbox. Anyway I’m good, thanks for your help.

@MayurDoriel – The lightbox option on that gallery doesn’t appear to be turned on. On other pages of your site it is working correctly, for example the header opens in the new lightbox here: http://mayurdoriel.in/my-god-my-god-why-have-you-forsaken-me/
@Devin – The Lightbox is turned on…. and also on the example you gave…. The header doesn’t seem to open in a lightbox. All the photos are opening in a new tab. Please help.

Have you tried it on a different computer? i tested your website and all images are opening in lightbox as expected, please see:

JosueTry the demo and see if you get the same behavior, I’m definitely getting the lightbox on your site and if you don’t get it on the demo its most likely a browser setting or add-on conflict.

Thank you for looking into the matter…. The demo example lightbox is opening just as it should….in a lightbox I mean.
But when it comes to my site… it doesn’t open. I have tried with Chrome, Firefox, Safari. I am on a Macbook Pro OSX 9. I have tried incognito mode as well.
The photos just open in a new tab.
I have the same problem!
The problem is since a long time. (not just since the last update)
In different browsers, on different computers, on different tablets.I have two pages with this theme and on both there is the problem.

best regards, TimI’m not really sure why that would be happening on your end but not on mine. The code is there to open it in the lightbox and the only reason I can imagine that it would act differently is if there is a browser/computer or other setting to open images or links in a new tab.
@Tim – only the seegers site is using version 2.9. Make sure that you have *re-generated all of the minification that was active before 2.9* since the new javacript file would not be loaded but the php being generated would require it to work.
Mine is working properly now. I cleared my cache as many ways as I know how and somewhere along the line the problem cleared up. Thanks for your help Devin.
On my site the “W3 Total Cache” plugin caused the problem.

The Lightbox is working now. I had to delete the cache stored in my computer’s browser.

Oh, all caches were cleaned several times. Unfortunately, this brings no improvement.

As for the lightbox, where is an example of a page that is supposed to display images in a lightbox but isn’t on the site? On this post for example the lightbox displays correctly:

The problem is that the plugin is adding a string at the end of the image URLs:
http://seegers-fotografie.de/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/IMG_7940.jpg?07f04c
Therefore preventing the ligthbox to be applied. The rule can be changed though, try opening js/avia.js and look for this line:
autolinkElements: 'a[rel^="prettyPhoto"], a[rel^="lightbox"], a[href$=jpg], a[href$=png], a[href$=gif], a[href$=jpeg], a[href$=".mov"] , a[href$=".swf"] , a:regex(href, .vimeo\.com/[0-9]) , a[href*="youtube.com/watch"] , a[href*="screenr.com"]',Replace it by:
